Growing up in a small farm and ranch community in Southern Utah, I learned the value of hard work and dedication. However, I had an ever-increasing urge to broaden my world and experience.
So, after attending Ricks College for a year, I labored in Forestry, Ski Resorts and Cattle Ranching ("Real" Cowboy in Callao, Utah). I saved what I could to be able to live in Africa for 2 years as a missionary.
Upon my return, I resumed work in Forestry, Fire-Fighting, Farming and Ranching, joined the National Guard, and eventually attended Southern Utah University to receive a "formal" education. While going to school I created, owned and operated a Forestry Business, TreePerfect. I also worked as an Assistant Editor, Car Salesman, and in a rocket fuel plant in the production of Ammonium Perchlorate (solid fuel used in the Space Shuttle).
I graduated with a BS degree in Education with minors in Physical Science and PE.
After finishing my studies at SUU, I migrated to the "Bush" in Alaska to work in Forestry and Education. Overall, I ended up spending over 12 years in the Alaskan Bush.
Also, I spent one year in the Northern Mariana Islands in Micronesia, teaching a sixth-grade class and coaching the school's swim team .
Seven years ago, and feeling a bit lonely, I traveled to Peru seeking marriage. It was there where I met my beautiful wife, Ana Maria. We were married in February '03 by the school principal, Rod Pruitt, while standing on over 4 feet thick of ice on the Kuskokwim River near Akiak, Alaska.
I have a daughter, Crystal, who graduated from Millard High in 2008. I also have five stepchildren, Jared, Katie, Lisa, David, who are all successful young adults, and Adrian, who is currently enrolled in the fourth-grade in Pinedale, Wyoming.
Continuing my "informal" studies in Language and Culture, I have also journeyed to: Europe, Central America, South America, New Zealand, and Australia.
I enjoy playing the guitar, banjo, and harmonica. And, have been passionate about coaching the world's oldest sport, Wrestling.
Presently, I'm living in Pinedale, Wyoming, and can best be reached via email: edisonrx@hotmail.com
