lecture will cover the following topics
MILITARY THREATS and military operational scenarios. ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION including Thermal Insulation, WaterVapour Permeable materials, Phase Change Materials, high performance wicking/ drying materials. BALLISTIC PROTECTION against bomb fragments, bullets, etc. FLAME & HEAT PROTECTION including reactive insulation using intumescence and Shape Memory Materials. CAMOUFLAGE, CONCEALMENT AND DECEPTION, wide spectrum camouflage of the individual and equipment. SMART/ REACTIVE MATERIALS, as above, but including colour changes, variable insulation etc. INTEGRATED COMBAT CLOTHING SYSTEMS, for future military forces.
