Over the centuries, Nick and Janette's passion has flared and cooled, but underneath their love has burned steadily. The ties that bind them are more than mere mutual attraction or physical need. They share a long history, an enduring friendship, and a knowledge and understanding of each other broader and deeper than any mere mortal can ever hope to achieve.

A great scene where Nick pays the first of many visits to the Raven to see Janette, and an incredible look of longing on Janette's face as he leaves.
