The Channelers'
Corroded Fishing Line Enchantment Contest

Shortly before Xurinos ascended to the heavens, he challenged Qabala to a contest to see which of the two could enchant the most corroded fishing lines the highest in accuracy and pain. Xurinos was first to get such a line to 9/9, and the next best they both did was 8/8. The 9/9 fishing line was given to Qabala on the day Xurinos ascended. Not long afterward, she lost it to a Crusader, and determined to restore it to herself, she collected corroded fishing lines and worked at enchanting them. It was during this time that she pushed a line to 6/10. Seeing as how she managed to get one attribute better than Xurinos' record, she strove to outdo him as well as she could, and in her later years enchanted several corroded fishing lines to high attributes. The other channelers in Arcana House who watched her progress tried to compete as well, so that even after her death of old age the contest remains open.

The Contest: The contest itself is open to any channeler who can enchant a weapon, specifically the corroded fishing line. No scrolls of enchantment may be used. Lord Bane's scroll of binding force may not be used. This is strictly by the spell learned in the guild. The item being enchanted is the corroded fishing line which the zombie fishermen in Nightfall use. Fishing lines enchanted high must be looked at by at least one Immortal for confirmation.

The Records:

Xurinos: 9/9 (1 of them)
Qabala: 7/11 (unfaded, 3 of them), 10/10 (3 of them), 6/10 (unfaded, 4 of them), 5/9 (unfaded, several), 9/9 (several).

The Channelers'
Chainmail Leggings Enchantment Contest

Rhovan and Kiranous, two young channelers, decided to start a contest as to who could enchant a pair of chainmail leggings to the strongest armor protection. The chainmail leggings for this contest are the ones worn by the students of war in Glyndane.

The Contest: The contest itself is open to any channeler who can enchant armor. The enchantments must be done strictly by uttering the spell, not by reading a scroll such as Lord Bane's, or any weaker scroll of enchantment, or using any other implement of magic. This is strictly by use of the spell learned in the guild. The item being enchanted is the pair of chainmail leggings worn by the students of war who wander around the new capital city of Glyndane.

The Records:

Rhovan: -8
Voltos: -9, -10, -11, -12 (became -14)
Kiranous: -12, -14
