Llothian Chant
The Chant of Nepenthus, Spreader of Pestilence,
to Lloth, the Spider Queen
I give my life
to slay the light.
I bring down foes
to serve her will.
Direction she gives us
To put down the good,
and all of its kind.
I claw and tear my way through elves,
praying that my sacrifices
be appeasing,
for nothing is more important
than my goddess, Lloth.
May she put my will to her pleasing.
This small tale is about to end
but the war still continues.
We must butcher the light,
day and night,
fellow Llothians,
To prepare for the coming of darkness.
[Historic Note: This song was not written by Esarvee, but by Nepenthus the Ranger, a follower of Lloth, the Spider Queen. Esarvee edited it and posted it after Nepenthus' okay. Nepenthus and Esarvee became friends during the long absence of Jandor shortly after Jandor and Esarvee married, during which time he helped her to gain rank so that when Jandor returned she could join in a group with him, being close enough in rank to him to do so. Nepenthus was a felar who enjoyed butchering hobbit toddlers in the Shire and tanking shopkeepers. His bears were known to love music.]
