Grace waking up from a nightmare

Grace Nakimura helps Gabriel Knight run his book store in New Orleans. Although she is fiercly loyal to Gabriel, she does feel resentment towards him for what she perceived to be his lack of respect for her. She often feels to be left out of his cases, and she naturally wants to play a larger role. Despite the feelings, they make a great duo and are alltogether good friends. A subtle theme in the series is the romantic/sexual tension between the two. In Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers, Gabriel is constantly flirting with Grace. She never returns his affection, but it is clear later in the series that there is some interest on her part..

Grace is very intelligent and often does Gabriel's research for him. She more often than not ends up coming through for Gabriel and saving his life. In Gabriel Knight 2, her extensive resaerch of The Black Wolf and King Ludwig II ends up saving Gabriel from an unpleasant fate. Gabriel often comes off as unappreciative or skeptical of Grace, but in the end he always ends up expressing his gratitude.

Grace is interested in Tai-Chi. She likes to do her Tai-Chi class in the evenings, after St. George's Rare Books closes. St. George's Rare Books is the book store that Gabriel owns (and lives in), and Grace manages. She takes care of the cash register and basically runs the store while Gabriel writes novels, or goes off on cases.
