During the later portion of Ludwig II's life (1880s), he was working with Richard Wagner for an opera that would be able to trap and kill Von Glower, the wolf who game him the curse. HISTORICAL FACTS: Ludwig DID have an obsession with building castles, he built many castles. They were: Neuschwanstein, Linderhof, and Herrenchiemsee. He was believed insane by others, and eventually was arrested. While it is true that Ludiwg II was good friends with the German composer Richard Wagner, nothing is known about a "lost opera". Also, Ludwig was never bitten by a werewolf.
King Ludwig was believed insane, and he was arrested and deemed insane by Germany's leading psychiatrist, Dr. Gudden. Ludwig was arrested in 1886 and was imprisoned. He later was found drowned in a lake with Dr. Gudden after a walk in the rain. Whether he was drowned, drowned Dr. Gudden then commited suicide, or whatever is unknown. It is just know that on June 13th, 1886, Bavaria's beloved king died.
