Madeline Buthane is basically the major sex interest in Gabriel Knight 3: Blood of the Sacred, Blood of the Damned. She meets up with Gabriel in Rennes-le-Chateau and immediatly begins little flirtations with him. He is more than happy to exchange them. Of course, Grace isn't too happy about this. . . She has a particular hatred for Madeline, because Madeline trys to cheat her on the tour guide prices several times. Oh, did I mentionthat Madeline Buthane is the head of the Rennes-le-Cheteau tour guide? She leads about 6 or 7 men around the countryside all day looking at things. . .although most of them are looking more at her than anything else. Still, she appears to be educated and leads the treasure hunt with much enthusiam.

To the best of my knowledge (I haven't played GKe in half a year), she and Gabriel never "do it" but you can tell Gabriel really wants to, and he does end up doing it. . .just not with Madeline! Oops! My big mouth started flapping again, don't wanna completly ruin the story for anyone who hasn't played it yet but let's just say that you are in for a couple curprises in this game. A few interesting plot turns that may shape the future games in this series.

Anyway, back to Madeline. . .she is an interesting character. Stareotypical Frence, but then again who doesn't like to make fun of the French? She is a very flirtatious woman, especially with Gabriel. She has a deep knowledge and understanding of the Rennes-le-Chateau valley and of the local mystery. She also is a treasure hunter, searching for the treasure that is fabled to be burried in the valley. That is the purpose of the tour group. Madeline is an interesting character, much like Malia Gedde.
