ARTIFICERS-This is the group who forges the tools of the Shadowlands. They are the creators of Oboli. They were once the richest guild in the Shadowlands, but now are seen as merely tinkerers. It is illegal to teach their Inhabit Arcanos in many areas. Usually covered in red heat marks from working with Soulfire.

CHANTEURS-Musicians among the dead. They were the first to perform in the Shadowlands and were, for a time, considered the only form of entertainment. All of them play an instrument, or at least have some type of moisemaker to back them up.

HARBINGERS-Stricken with Wanderlust, make nightly excursions to far-off places and return by sunrise. Many work for the Heirarchy as messengers. Considered bad manners to hinder them in their duty. Used to rescue anyone caught in Tempest, but now Spectres will pose as Wraiths and this has been mostly ignored. Usually calm, controlled, quiet with swift moves and Jet-black eyes from time spent in Tempest.

HAUNTERS-This group was Affiliated with the Spooks in an attempt to drive mortals out of areas to make more room for Wraiths. They act like exterminators. Considered insane for the things they witness and effects they evoke can't keep them sane for long. Usually identified by this tendency to have odd quirks from the use of their powers and a tendency to wear large, black cloaks.

MASQUERS-Used as Spys, artisans and assassins for their proficiency at Moliate to change shape. Give Wraiths more powerful looking forms than they might actually hae but are concerned more with the artistic style of what they do than what they are actually doing. Almost all Citidels have a former Masquer. They are most easily noted by their prefect visages and malleable forms.

MONITORS-These are the Soul Gatherers in the Underworld. When their Guild was disbanded, they were inducted into the Heirarchy and put into the Legions. Very protective of their profession and will only train those they feel are completely trustworthy. They never close their eyes, even when slumering.

ORACLES-Advice givers who were once universally hunted by the Heirarchy but not since Charon vanished. Never claim their profession and only give advice to those who ask for it. Recognized by gaudy dress and fate symbols carved in forehead and arms.

PARDONERS-Considered the closest thing to a religious organization in the Shadowlands. Concerned with getting rid of Angst and helping Wraiths to not be overcome by the power of their Shadow. Won't be arrested for being in business. Older Pardoners have developed near religious mannerism to deal with their work while newer ones are more Psychological. Usually have black stains on fingers frominteracting with Shadows.

PROCTORS-This guild, though never a part of the Heirarchy because it violates Charon's Code, was used by it often. They concern themselves with doing the complex work in the living world that can't be done with Outrage. So long as they do not go to far with tampering with Mortals, they are not hunted down anymore. Proctors can be told by the patches of light and dark on their body from so much crossing.

PUPPETEERS-Though never part of the Heirarchy, and loathed by Charon, they were still used by them. They consider it their job to protect Mortals from other Wraiths, because they are the group usually responsible for dealith with the humans(through the Puppetry art). Now, many still believe the old Guild rules, but many more feel the exact opposite and use and abuse Mortals as they see fit. Puppeteers usually have strange manerisms and accents collected from skinriding many different people.

SANDMEN-Actors and playwrights in the underworld. They form troupes and tour the underworld putting on their displays for all to see. Usually dress from bits of clothing sewn together from wisps of previously inhabited dreams from Phantasm art.

SPOOKS-Never a true guild, these were just a collection of outcasts who liked to cause trouble. Usually found in the darkest parts of the city, scary Mortals with Outrage Arcanos to seem like the Ghosts of Legend. Usually have broad shoulders, massive chest and surly looks.

USURERS-This is the group who had been in the power exchange business, through the Usury art, until they tried to take over the underworld from the rulers. They were cast out and hunted down as were the other guilds. However, with the stigma of the failed coup on their heads, they have buried themselves even farther. Someone requiring their services must go through a series of contacts and refernce points and blind leads until finally the Usurer is sure their intentions are good and they aren't being followed. They are identified by their tendency to speak in precise, numerical terms and the scales they use to measure their transactions.
