Valiant has teamed up with SEMIC organization in Oslo, Norway and PLAY PRESS in Rome, Italy to bring the adventures of Magnus, Solar, Turok, Ninjak, Dr. Mirage and others to the non-English audience.

TOFF ROBOT ACTION!

In Norway Magnus first appeared in Lee Falks's FANTOMET (The Phantom) NR. 12 (1993) which reprinted Valiant's Magnus Robot Fighter #0. This was followed by Magnus getting his own series in Norwegian entitled (surprise) MAGNUS ROBOT FIGHTER. (BTW, "Squeee" in Norwegian is "Skriii"!) T'ROK, LA SECONDA VITA DEL DOTTOR MIRAGE and More!

In Italy Play Press has published several titles in Italian filled with Valiant stories. Some of these are "TUROK CACCIATORE DI DINOSAURI" (Turok Dinosaur Hunter), "SOLAR L'UOMO DELL'ATOMO" (Solar Man of the Atom), "MAGNUS IL NECICO DEI ROBOT" (Magnus Robot Fighter) and "X-O IL GUERRIERO" (X-O Manowar). These editions, while standard comic book size, have increased page counts over their American counterparts. The Magnus book is some 64 pages, Solar checks in at 69 pages and one of the Turok issues is a massive 144 pages! Many of these issues reprint one story from the title character and one (or more) "backup" features (a Ninjak tale or a story from The Second Life of Dr. Mirage, etc.)

Note: There have been some Chinese and Spanish editions of the Valiant titles reported. Some of these may not be authorized editions. Also, the English language editions are imported around the world (largely through distributors in London). So if you buy, make sure you specify the foreign language editions (Italian, Norwegian, etc) Last year I asked a friend to bring back copies of Magnus when she went on holiday in Norway. Imagine my surprise when she handed me the American versions (sent all the way to Norway, bought by my friend and brought all the way back to the U.S.!)
