CHAPTER 2
"First, let's review our situation. Liz, give us a rundown of what we're facing."

"The good news is that the fragments from the Petrovitch Astroid has missed entering Earth. The bad news is that WNASA has confirmed that a new comet has entered our area. This Comet is known as KX3211 for now, and it will be entering our solar system in 3 days. 5 days after that it could very possibly impact with Earth. KX3211 has an esimated diameter of ten miles, and is traveling about 90,000 miles per hour. Needless to say, KX3211 will cause worldwide destruction if it is not rerouted."
"Hmm, a grim piture indeed. Bill, what can we do to avert this collision>"

"We have one Pegasus ship that can be ready in twodays time. That may not be enough in itself. We would need two of Byrd's composite engines even so to redirect the Comet's course. I don't think we can expect WNASA to launch anything of value in the limited time span that we have."
"Ted, give us a over view of the espionage, and what can we use to help us?"

"We believe that Harold Jensen delivered the engine to RAXTECH Industries. Of course the Asian based English Company is refuting all knowldege and association of the whole affair. Inside sources believe that the engine is just now arriving at a research facility somewhere outside of New Deli."
"Can we mount a force to recapture the engine in the next day or two Ted?"
"Retrieval in two days time would be extremely optomistic Mister Chairman."

Then we have only one course of action left open to us. First, we have to concentrate on diverting that Comet. Bill, use whatever resources we have to accomplish a Pegasus launch with compliment of composite engines. Liz,get on the horn to everyone you can. Find out what resources they can offer to assist us. Manpower, materials, facilities, whatever and then co-ordinate with Bill. Ted, go ahead and mount a strike force against RAXTECH, or whomever Jensen sold out to. Just make damn sure you ar correct, and then wipe them out. We have to send a message here that we will not tolerate such acts of industrial terrorisms."
