A year after entering the 17th Unit, Diane and Liz were two of the best Huntresses in it. They always went with X and Zero in dangerous missions.
One day, Liz entered Spade´s office. "What´s wrong Hunter Liz?" Spade asked confused to the beautiful Huntress. "Why are you here?"
"Well, I came here because I wanted to ask you a favor." Liz explained as Spade closed all the communication channels. "I would like you to transfer me into the Zero Class Special Unit."
"Liz, I don´t know..." Spade went serious. "The ZCSU is just for very special reploids, but I´ll try."
"Thank you sir." Liz walked out of the room and the door slid behind her.
Three months later, the mavericks had calmed down. X and Diane had fallen in love as well as Zero and Liz. One day, X entered Spade´s office. "Commander, I´ve got something to tell you, as well as Zero, Diane and Liz have." After saying that, the three reploids entered the office.
"OK X. What´s that important thing you need to tell me?" Spade asked with a smile in his face.
"You know the mavericks have been pretty calmed, so..." X made a little pause to take breathe, then continued, "the four of us are going to retire and have a normal life." X placed his emblem on Spade´s desk. Zero, Liz and Diane did it as well.
"What?!" Spade was astonished. "But... But..."
"You won´t make us change our minds." Zero said as X and Diane walked out of the office together. "Now, I think you might want to begin looking for two new Unit Commanders. So long sir." Zero and Liz followed X and Diane. "X, I think we should say good bye to Dr. Cain." Zero suggested. The four went to Dr. Cain´s lab.
"Dr. Cain..." X began talking. "We came here to say good bye. We´re going to retire."
"I think you won´t change your mind. So, I´m going to take your arm-cannons off." Dr. Cain was pretty sad. But there was nothing he could do about it. He took the arm-cannons off, gave each reploid his and her arm and sealed the capsule room... forever...
X and Diane left HQ first, and went to a house they bought in the outskirts. Zero and Liz returned to the skycraper where Zero had first seen the light of day. They remodeled it and transformed it into a beautiful house. But X and Zero remainded as the best friends ever...
