"Yup, flamers are everywhere if you want one so this is a oasis of peace for me."
"It was a very good idea. While some of the harassing messages continued for a bit after it was implemented, they've now completely stopped. I think we all appreciate not being anonymously attacked and the newsgroup was really going downhill. Now, it's quieter, but at least the conversation is civil and the personal attacks are gone. This is the best GD improvement I have seen."
"Very good idea, keeps everybody civilised."
"Absolutely a great idea. I stopped going to the newsgroup until I heard that the IP address tracking was in place."
"It seems like a good idea to have addresses available to Doug but not for public viewing, though it puts more on his plate."
"It's not important. However everyone should have some manner to post message. It's place to share experience and information, not to attack others even if each one has his/her own style to play."
"I have never read the news group (I'm probably missing something eh?) so I don't know about the IP address tracking..."
"I am not sure but most likely many people would not write what they wanted being aware of IP tracking. And the most significant thing is w h a t people write and not w h o wrote it."
"I don't follow the newsgroup very closely, so I'm not sure what this is all about."
There was 100% of unanimity about this issue. Almost everybody is in favour of the IP Address Tracking and everybody think that people should behave in Newsgroup.
