"Searching in Yahoo! for any place to place Diplomacy (the Avallon Hill game) and found this game, much better that regular Diplomacy."
"I don't know anymore. I think by luck only. I think from the email games page."

"A friend found it searching the web for E-mail games and I have been in a game ever since."
"I was trying to find a place to play chess on internet list of slacvx.slac.standford.edu and saw a link to PBEM games. I decided to check what was "PBEM games" about and ended in Greg Lindahl´s page. After some months checking those games i ended selecting GD. But i did not knew how to sign up, until after some 20 to 30 connection to GD page i realised that it had a link to a "main" page!!! X-)"
"Can't remember, it's been so long. I think I was born playing GD... ;-)"
Some players told that when searching from PBEM games they used Yahoo or Altavista.
I thought in putting here the names of the players who gave their citations ( to see how some of the "big" guys ended here), but i was not sure if they would like to see their names.
