Converting PC cities to Macintosh

Get prepared by making sure you have a utility for unzipping PKZIPPed (.zip) files. Here is a listing of Mac zip utilities for you to browse. Also make sure you have a copy of ResEdit, which can be downloaded here. After getting the city file you want from the internet, or wherever you got it, follow these instructions

    1. Transfer the file to your SimCity 2000 folder.
    2. Start ResEdit for the Mac.
    3. Under the file menu, choose open.
    4. Open the city file (for example, CHICAGO.SC2).
    5. You will get a message saying the file has no resource fork, and asks if you wish to add one. Click OK.
    6. Open the file menu and select Get info for CHICAGO.SC2.
    7. In the new dialog box that appears, type in CITY for the Type and SCDH for the Creator.
    8. Open the file menu and select close.
    9. Select yes to save the city before closing.
    10. You may now start SimCity 2000 and load the city.

    2. Start SCURK for Windows
    3. Go to the Pick & Copy window
    4. Pull down the File menu
    5. Select Load
    6. Select Source Object Set and then TILESET.MIF
    7. A window should appear saying "Translating from DOS"
