"Inside Move Lucas, Fox Guard 'Wars' Posters"
(culled from Variety.com)
By BILL HIGGINS, November 9, 1998

HOLLYWOOD (Variety) - Fox and LucasFilm were taking no chances with last
week's print run for the ``Star Wars: Episode 1 -- The Phantom Menace''
one-sheet.

At all times during what was called ``an unusually large'' print run at
L.A.'s Kater Litho, either a Fox or LucasFilm rep was on hand to ensure
print quality and that no extras were taken home by employees. If a poster
was not up to grade, it was immediately torn into pieces.

The one-sheet, whose image includes a young man standing in a desert, was
done with a special five-color process as an anti-counterfeiting device --
the Fox logo in the corner changes color beneath a blacklight.

Sources said the sheet should be in theaters by Nov. 20, the same day the
film's two-minute trailer begins screening.
