<------------The Sim Tower "Elevator" |
| Welcome to Sean's Page for Sim Tower Help. This page will provide some help for the people who haven't grasped the concept of the game. The information for this page comes from the manuel and the game. First I will go over the different things you can build in the game. |

| - Lobby - The base of your tower. If this is not here you cannot build. If use use the multi level lobby technique you can
get a two or three level lobby rather than the default one layer. When building your tower, remember to place a lobby every 15 floors because you do not want to have buldoze rooms to put one in. Every 15 floors you get a sky lobby. All the lobby really just does is helps flow the transportations routes in your tower.
- Stairs - The stairs connect 2 floors together. Tenents won't take stairs more than 4 floors. P.S. stairs cannot
be placed over elevators. | When there is an over crowded area in your tower, use stairs to relieve the stress.... This will allow people to travel quickly between floors.
- Escalators - Are less stressful than stairs. People won't take ecalators more than 7 times to get up your tower. | Hotel Suites work better if there is an escalator near by because the snobby people they take in don't like to walk.
- Standerd Elevator - When you first build a elevator it only has one car. You can have up to 8 cars. This elevator can
hold up to 21 people. | This elevator only travels up 30 floors, so plan the building of your elevators.
- Service Elevator - An elevator that transport service and infasructure personnel. It can hold up to 17 cleaning people.
Doesn't have to stop at lobbies but has to stop at recycling centers. | Must also stop at the levels where there are hotels, this is because the service people need to clean the rooms.
- Express Elevator - The express elevator only stops every 15 floors. It holds 42 people - double the standerd elevator.
Simtenants usually take the express elevator over every other form. | These elevators can travel 100 sories high... So only 1 is really needed.
- Parking Garage - Holds one car. Every row of these require a parking ramp. If there is a large "X" on it, it isn't
connected to the parking ramp.
|
- Parking Ramp - You need and column of these to allow people to use them. Click here to
see an example of this.
|
- Medical Center - Medical centers for your office workers so they should be placed near offices. | There is really no use for this building except for the star requirements.
- Security - They battle fires and find bombs. The nearer they are to the disaster the quicker they get there. They cannot
be bulldozed. This can be a really big problem... So place them with care. | When a bomb is reported, you can either pay the ransom or let your security people find it... They cross your tower looking for ir in rows. It's the same with a fire, the more security places you have, the more security people you'll have to fight the disaster.
- Recycling Centers - Collection trucks come every day to collect the recycle. Remember to place them near service
elevators. | As your tower grows, you might need to build more of these.
- Metro Station - They can only be placed below ground. You are limited to one per tower. Remember that they bring
many people to your tower quickly.
|
- The cathedral can only be placed on the 100 story level. They cannot be bulldozed. Remember to have
good transport to them.
|
- Fast Food - There are a variety of fat (I mean fast) food joints. They don't produce much income so you have to
manage the stress level.
|
- Restaurant - Only used at dinner hour. They produce more income than fast food but the buyers tend to linger longer so
the potential for more customers is lessened.
|
- Retail Shop - There are many differnet kinds. They will leave if conditions are unsuitable or if business is really bad.
|
- Movie Theatre - The different kinds of movies bring in different amounts of money. Your audience enters from top and
exits from bottem - place other businesses accordingly. | Eventually business dwindles, so you must pay money to replace the movie.
- Party Hall - These can hold 50 people every afternoon. You also have to have the right number of hotel rooms.
|
- Condominium - Not rented but sold. A good money maker at start. When bulldozed you pay the money back. :-(
|
- Office - Offices are rented so you get money from them every once and a while. The workers leave to have lunch
everyday. Not open on Weekends.
|
- Single Hotel Room - Holds one person nightly. Watch what you put near this.
|
- Twin Hotel Room - Two people can stay here.
|
- Hotel Suite - Holds two people and makes more profit. Requires one parking spot.
|
- Housekeeping - Clean hotel rooms in the morning. If you have to many hotel rooms and not enough housekeeping, you
might get cockroaches. They use Service elevators so have them near a service elevator.
