Suspended, inverted, Dangling, deserted,
Waits The Hanged Man above an infinite abyss.
Knowing wants, knowing needs, but in duty to one's self remiss,
Living with a gnawing, continuous pain,
A life, unamended, cannot remain.
Sitting for days in lonely contemplation,
Enduring a life with sad resignation,
Struggling in a fury of shaking and tears,
At last realizing and confronting the fears.
To remain is to die: plunge to the depths,
Change means life: An intense vision one did percept.
Told the same truth by so many friends,
Never did believe, but now, must see to amends.
Loved ones hurt, friendships destroyed,
Self destructiveness and pain caused others, now working to avoid.
Only by a knot of faith, the Hanged Man is bound,
The awakening of blind trust in one's self profound.
A transition at hand, a peace to accept,
A choice to make, status quo not to be kept.
Hanging over that infinite abyss,
So many things in a life amiss,
Not knowing if peace, acceptance, and change can be,
But I have to try, for I do know: She, The Hanged Man...is me.
