Okay, here's a character I whipped up for a Nightbane game (using HU rules,
however. can't wait for HU 2nd Edition...). I broke a few rules, but none
of
them are huge, so it shouldn't be a big deal. Oh, and IMC (if I had one
going ) the Dragon Kata is slightly different (see below). Here we go...

Character Information:
Kane Chang grew up in Brooklyn, the son of a pair of illegal Taiwanese
immigrants. He went through the public school system and graduated as
valedictorian of his class. Throughout his teenage years he studied
everything he could and learned constantly. In addition, his father
taught him the art of Shao-Lin Kung Fu, a skill passed through his
family for centuries. By the age of 18 he could speak three languages
and knew a great deal about the world. This knowledge combined with
his native intelligence and physical capabilities made him a natural
choice for the CIA. After training he became an operative serving in
the People's Republic of China. As an American of Chinese descent, he
was able to pass convincingly as a native and found employment as a
journalist for the national news service. During the late 1990's he
conducted espionage and HUMINT operations for various government
agencies. None of these operations were of great difficulty or
importance, but on what was to be his last mission, he discovered a
deadly secret. He found signs of an imminent worldwide invasion and
the infiltration of the world's governments. He did not know that this
was the beginning of the Nightlord's invasion, rather he thought that
it was possibly proof of the Illuminati and other such organizations
he had read about in his youth. He had not believed before, but the
signs pointed to such a worldwide conspiracy. On February 4th, 2000,
he felt a calling which drew him to his home of NYC.
Once in NYC, he was drawn to the Met. There he first saw the Long
Chiang, an ancient Chinese spear. He could hear it whispering to him.
He lapsed into somewhat of a daze, and all he remembers is breaking
into the Met and stealing the Spear. He then fled the city and lived
as a vagabond, moving from place to place. Once out of the city,
the Spear spoke to him. It told him of his place in the world, of his
mission to help defend it against the Nightlords. What the Spear told
him was corroborated by his findings in China, and he believed it.
Then Dark Day came. When the sun disappeared, he returned to city,
guided by Tieh Long, the Dragon Butterfly. Tieh Long is the magic
spirit which inhabits Chiang-Long. Now, only days after Dark Day, he
searches the city for a sign or what he is to do, how he is to help
(note: He found a cheap apartment in the East Village which he uses as
his base of operations).
Kane Chang is a man of Oriental descent, roughly 5'8" tall and about
150lbs. He has thick white hair (he dyed it while serving in China), a
peculiarity, parted down the middle and roughly ear length. His street
clothes consist of a black leather jacket, blue jeans, and a sweater
or t-shirt. When powered down, the Chiang-Long looks like a small rod
about 7" long. When he invokes the power of Chiang-Long, his clothes
change into a battle costume. It consists of a black hakama, sandles,
a dark blue silk jacket, and a black surcoat with a dragon picked out
in silver thread on the back. In addition, his face is covered with a
plain chrome-like mask and his head by a wicker jingasa. The mask has
no facial features except eye holes. The Long Chiang expands to nearly
6' long with a 1' blade (see the weapons for more information on the
Chiang-Long).

1. Chiang-Long, the Dragon Spear
Kane found this spear in, of all places, a museum. This is not a
proud moment in his history, but he stole the spear from the
Metropolitan Museum in NYC. The Chiang-Long is ancient, over 3000
years old. It is inhabited by a spirit named Tieh Long, the Dragon
Butterfly, who is trapped in the spearhead. This is the power that
makes the spear magic. It appears as a 6' long wooden shaft with an
extremely well crafted straight blade 1' long attached to the end.
The blade is covered from tip to tip with runes and magical symbols,
most prominent of which is a dragon.
