School: Conjuration
Range: 30 yards
Components: V,S,M
Duration: 1 round
Casting Time:
Area of Effect: Special
Saving Throw: None
This spell creates a number of small projectiles equal to the caster's
level plus 1d4. These projectiles appear at the fingertips of the caster
and hurtle towards their target(s) as if they had been thrown by a fighter
of a level equal to the caster's plus 1d4, at the strength and dex of the
wizard, unless this would impose minuses, in which case the modifier is
zero. For example: the fourth level mage Delbar, with a strength of 16
and a dex of 11, casts this spell while facing an orc. Six (in this case;
could be anywhere from 5-8) missles are conjured, and fly at his enemy,
the orc, as if thrown by a sixth (once again, could be anywhere from fifth
to eigth) level fighter. All of them may hit, none of them may hit; separate
attack rolls are made for each, using the modifiers of strength and dex.
Delbar would get no hit adjustment with his ability scores, but would get
a plus 1 damage adjustment, since the missles are thrown. The missles conjured
will always cause 1d6 points of damage, plus the caster's ability adjustment,
regardless of what type of weapon they are. The caster, at the time of
casting, can decide what weapon type is hurled. Since the type doesn't
affect damage, this is more to foster creativity than anything else. The
caster can choose anything that can be thrown as his projectiles, and the
projectiles do not all have to be the same thing. Also, the caster can
hurl these missles at a number of targets equal to his level, though he
doesn't have to have more than one target. Delbar, for example, could choose
up to four targets, but could send all his missles at just this one orc,
even if there were others around.
The material component of this spell is any small object that is thrown
and consumed at the end of the spell.
