SubSpace

SubSpace is a very cool "Internet-only" game. You fly a small spaceship and fight other people. You can upgrade your ship by collecting "greens". Greens are small boxes that contains better guns, bombs, speed, thrusters, rotation etc. SubSpace is still under betatest but it will be released (They say...) sometime in November (around the 14th). First it was planned that it would cost a few bucks a month but they skipped that and now you only have to buy the game for around 30$ and that's all you will pay for it.

There are both ordinary fighting zones and flag zones. If you are new you should start in Alpha zone. When you got 500 points here you are allowed to fly in War Zone. War Zone is one of the flag zones. Here your team must collect all eight flags on the arena to win. So if your team has five flags you must both defend these and try to find the other three. These three could be in the hands of an enemy team who wants your five flags as much as you wants theirs....and don't forget the other 5 - 15 teams who want all the flags :)

You can also join or form a squad. A squad is a group of people who stick together, like a guild in Ultima Online or a clan in Warcraft II. Squads usually have a homepage that you could check out. Some squads just fly in War Zone, some in Running Zone etc. Often there is some requirements you have to meet to be able to join. When you start the game you are put on a frequency, for example 4, together with other players. This is your team. Repell

Everybody in your team is yellow color on the radar. All other frequencies are purple on the radar and these are your enemies. To send a team message you type // in front of your message. Team messages are yellow. If you want to send a private message to somebody you have to tick down the arrow on the menu in the up-left corner with "Page Down" to pick the name you want to send to. Then type / in front the message. You can also type :Name:Message if you know the persons name. You can also send a message to your whole squad by typing :SquadName:Message . For a public message just type as usual, public messages are blue. For example:

To join another frequency than the one you start on just type =456 if you want to go to frequency 456. Your current frequency is shown in the upper-right corner.

You can attach to your teammates so you form a turret. One person fly the ship, the others are gunturrets who can't control the ship but they can fire as usual. Turrets can be the cause of mass destruction if the driver is good. To attach, choose the drivers name in the list up-left with "Page Down/Page Up" and press F7.

I used to fly with Warhawks under the name Argyle, I flew a lot with them and we are in the Pro Legue but lately a lot of the original players quit. I started to play in Alpha Zone just for fun and met a lot of people there. I'm currently a member of EyeQ that is an alpha squad only. EyeQ is one of the best squads in alpha (if there can be a best squad in alpha :) ). If I fly in Alpha Zone it's under the name iQ}Argyle. But mostly I play in Powerball Zone under the name Argyle. I'm in Powerball League with the squad Outlaw's.
