Jeath and the Fortune Teller

I lied. I'm very interested, but right now I don't want everyone to know
what's piqued my interest. After 'retiring' if I have a private room I'll
change there, otherwise I'll pull the outhouse stunt again (it nearly always
works.) I use my disguise ability, along with anything I can get my hands
on, to alter my appearance to look like an incredibly old elf. I take
special care to disguise my hands, as I intend to test the fortune teller
and see if she's real or phony. Once I'm satisfied with my elderly
appearance I will visit said fortune teller and see what she can tell me of
my past, and of my future.
If she seems legit I will ask her about this trip I'm on (not referring to
Waterdeep by name). I will also ask her if she can see good or ill
regarding the impending match of the fair maiden and her beau. I'll ask if
good or ill bodes in Darrin's future, and mine. Finally I'll ask about
romance and myself and if ever the twain shall meet.

If she's a phony I'll listen to her babble briefly, reveal my true nature,
ask politely (at first, not so politely if she refuses) for my money back
and then I will go watch the dancer for a short period of time.

If she's legit and discovers my deception I will apologize, explaining that
one can never be to careful in regards to the fakes and phonys that give her
art a bad name.

At no time during the evening do I drink anything stronger than water, and
that only at the inn.

 >You leave the inn in an excellent disquise and make your way to the
>fortune teller, an elderly lady with salt and pepper scraggly hair.
>She finishes with the customer ahead of you and then with a crackly
>old voice she says, "And what would you want here, elf? You want
>your fortune told, eh? Well as old as you are, you don't have much
>else left in life, do you?" she cackles some more and then glances
>at your face a second time and you see a flicker of confusion cross
>over her bright blue eyes. "Well sit down, sit down and let's see
>what I see," she directs you in a softer tone. She reaches out her
>hands, saying, "Now put your hand in mine." She waits for you to do
>so.
>
>To Jeath. roll percentile dice, you don't need to use the dice server
>just send me the result. Moose
>
>

Percentile roll: 87. Rob (Onyx) thinks I failed whatever I'm rolling for
(borrowed his dice, don't have mine at work).

As you place your hand in hers, she uses her other hand to turn
yours palm side up and she again glances up at you curiously. "You are
not very old at all, are you," she says softly. "Well, I'm not so old
either," she says lightly with a wink.
You ask your questions, and she says very softly, so that only you
can hear, "I would be misleading you if I told you any answers to these
questions. But romance..." she trails off and as her eyes gaze into
yours, her finger moves slowly up your inner arm. Meet me later if you
dare, in the tavern called Finnegans and take off that ridiculous
disguise. As I will take off mine," she says her eyes twinkling.
Louder she calls out, "Now, what I see when I look at your palm
is...and she babbles something about a great journey and true love, and
the few people gathered around ooh and aah at her replies. But when she
says the word love, it is you she is looking at and not at her audience.
"Now go on with you oldtimer," she says with a grin as another young man
steps up to her table.

Jeath: I return to our quarters for the evening, remove the disguise and
wander out into the streets. For amusement purposes, until the gypsy is
able to get away, I will watch the crowd and see if I can locate the
pickpockets. If I happen to see one take something from someone in our
group, especially Darrin or one of the dwarves (since I expect they can
handle themselves in a fight) I will grab the pickpocket and confront
him/her after getting the party members attention. However, if a fight
breaks out I will back off and not participate unless things appear to be
going very badly for the party member. Then let me know and I'll try to
figure something out.

I will keep the date with the gypsy at Finnegan's. I was actually inquiring
about something long term, but there's nothing wrong with the occasional
dalliance until then. And who knows. She's headed to Waterdeep as well,
maybe we'll spend more time together soon. And if not, there's always Foldis...

If I ever get that desparate please send a lightning bolt from above and put
me out of my misery.

You enter Finnegans Tavern to find the house quite packed, though around
one central table you note Onyx and Foldis sitting and drinking with
another dwarf. They are all grinning and quite happy. You search
the crowd for the salt and pepperhaired fortune teller, and though
you saw her leave her booth for the night, you see no sign of her in
the tavern.
It is very crowded however and you endeavor to make your way around
all the tables and booths. There are many beautiful young women, some
out to have a good time, and some others are more professional in
selling their obvious goods. You pass by one booth with three or four
dark haired beauties, but eventhough your eyes linger on the sights
contained there in, none are the woman you have come to meet.
As you pass by the booth, a hand reaches out to trap yours, and looking
down you see two very lovely bright blue eyes looking deeply into yours.
She laughs lightly, and you recognize her voice as she says softly, "Ah,
you are the one I was hoping to meet again tonight. Do you not remember
me?"
Gone is the salt and pepper hair, and not one wrinkle rests upon her
childish face. She edges over and says, "Will you join us?" It seems
she wore a decent disguise herself.

Since this is why I'm here I will most certainly join her group. I will be
the consummate gentleman most of the evening, but I also have every
intention of sharing sleeping quarters with her this evening if she is
willing. I will use my charms, but not my abilities to win her over. And
being no bigger than I am, I will force nothing on her she is not willing to do.

Before we get to that part of the evening, how many are in her group, who
are they, and what will they freely tell me about themselves, their pasts
and their futures? Obviously they are headed to Waterdeep, but what do they
plan to do when they get there? Anything besides their fortune telling?
Where are they from? And do they have any ideas how an elf could set about
making a name for himself in this area? Any legendary beasts to be
conquered or treasures to be rediscovered?

What is the fair maiden's name? What are her plans? Does this appear to be
a mere dalliance, or is their potential for a return visit at Waterdeep?
More than one return visit?

I am very careful not to drink very much. If they appear to be trying to
get me drunk, I'll play along pretending to be drunk, but I will frequently
slosh ale on the table, and won't consume more than the equivalent of one
mug. If they aren't pushing me to drink more or quickly I will drink slowly
and leisurely and enjoy the lady's company (hoping she's no lady).

I will also ask the group what they know of Darrin, Zeptha, Zeptha's beau,
Storyteller, and all the other group members. Have they heard tell of a big
wedding at Waterdeep? Any rumors of trouble about the wedding, or anything
else? I will also tell them in no uncertain words that I talk too much and
ask too many questions, and they are free to tell me to shut up whenever
they want and I will take no offense, even if they meant for me to be offended.

I'm for escorting the fair maidens back to their wagon. Whatever happens
from that point is fine with me. Hopefully I shall spend a wonderful
evening not getting enough sleep.

Hell, even if they rob us, I'm mostly broke anyway. What have I got to
lose? I will draw the line at elven sacrifices.

Vea has already made herself comfortable with you at her side since
you sat with her in the booth, that when it is time to leave the
tavern, she waits for Christeel to depart with her younger sisters
and then after a minute or so, she yawns and says, "Good Jeath. I
fear it is my bedtime, and the camp so far away. I will feel much
safer, especially after what happened to my sisters with that mob,
if you would walk me to my wagon."
You of course agree, and together you walk from the bar leaving Darrin
and Vrey alone. Although Darrin looks a bit shaky, he wishes you a
good night, and you take your leave.
Once outside, Vrey is quick to lean against you, one arm wrapped
around your waist, and her other hand undoing the top lace of your
tunic. She grins and as her body rubs against yours, she guides you
up the street to the road heading north. She asks softly, her brown
eyes gazing up into yours, "So are you elves really the best lovers.
I have only slept with humans before. They grow quite boring. Of
course it is just a rumor I heard. I will surely expect you to prove
yourself should you say you are a fantastic lover."
Just as you clear the edge of town, she leads you down a road to
the left. You can see campfires in the distance with several covered
wagons and carts outlined against them.
A hundred feet from camp, she pulls you to the left down a small trail
running against a farmer's field. You soon find yourself between two
rows of nicely growing vegetables. She stops and deftly undoes the
top strings of her blouse. She looks up at you, the moon's light
flickering in her eyes. Her lips part and edging up on her tiptoes, her
lips seek hungrily for yours.

GOOD FOR A LAUGH
I sent your last note to Rob-Onyx with a request for suggestions for a
response. I thought you'd like to see his answer.

This is how you reply:

Of course Elves are the best lovers. Of course, I would not think of making
such a claim if I were not ready and most able to give you the proof you desire.

When she tries to kiss you you should respond eagerly, affer all, you are a
gentleman and you should always give a lady what she desires.

Alternately, you could just yell WAHOO and jump her in the field.

When I read his response I nearly fell off my chair.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jeath responds to Vea's remarks about Elven lovers:

Yes, most Elven men are better lovers than human men because we live 10
times as long, and therefore have many more chances to learn. And we do.

Elven elders have always said the same about Elven women, but I've always
suspected human women are better, as Elven women tend to be too passive, and
not energetic in their love-making. However, I've yet to find a human woman
to prove my theory correct. Perhaps you could help??

-> Vea's reply
> She grins and breathes, "I don't know about elven women or any other
> woman. But I know what I desire, Jeath. I offer myself to you. Test
> your theory on me, oh great elven lover." Her hand runs down your inner
> thigh, and her eyes twinkle with amusement.
Jeath: I will gladly oblige the lady and make love to her right then and there.

Once we've finished she will inevitably ask how she compares to elven women.
At this point I will tell her I'm not sure yet, and we'll do it all over
again. We can repeat this as many times as she'd like.

When morning rolls around I'll have to hurry back to the inn. First I'll
ask Vea where they will be staying at Waterdeep, as my employment is
scheduled to end there, and I will have some free time and a little more
money on my hands. Then I will bid her farewell, adieu, aloha and return to
the caravan, looking for Christeel and Darrin on the way, as I'm sure they
didn't return any earlier than I.

She replies that she is not sure if you are better than any other lover
she has ever had, but she will give you another try to better yourself.

After each session, she seems to get even more eager to give you another
try, and mockingly pouts, that the sun is rising, and she has barely
just begun. If you desired energy and passion, she is all you imagined and
more and truly she is not even breathing hard from the exertion. She teases
you a bit more, as she slowly finds her clothing, strewn to the four
winds and is even slower in putting them on, each lace to be tied a course in
ecstasy. But finally she is done, and as the gentleman you are, you
give her a hand to her feet. She runs her fingers through her wild black
hair, and composes herself as you return to the main road.

Vea gives you the name of an inn they usually frequent, though the
caravan itself will be parked just outside the great city to the west, and that
is where they normally sleep. But she and her sisters are usually up late
and hanging out at the Golden Flames. She says it is easy to find, right
near the open market inside the west gates. Ask anyone.
