Red Squad goes to the fair

I will go with Darrin to find a place to put the wagons and rest the
horses. (I assume this is the first order of business) I will then
try to find a place to stay for the night. I will place most of my
money in a pouch inside my clothes so no pick pockets that may be at
the fair will get their grubby hands on it. As soon as this is
accomplished I will return to the fair and go to the booth where the
Dwarf is lifting weights. I will watch him for a while to see if I can
determine if he is actually lifting heavy weights or if he is somehow
faking it. If he is lifting real weights I will see if he will accept
a friendly competition to see who can lift the most. (I will accept a
small wager if he would like one, but I will not suggest it) I will
not drink anything alcoholic at the fair and I will not stay for very
long. I think we should set up a watch over the wagons so no one opens
them and drinks the contents. After a short time at the fair I will
return to take a turn watching the wagons.
Foldis
On entering the village;
"Hey Darrin, where do we stay tonight?"
Further discussions will depend on reply but can be
taken to be rather boring and related to where we and the
animals stay for the night.
Once settled I will grab a quick meal and then head for
the dwarven "weightlifter" to see what he is doing.
I will try to engage him in conversation, in Dwarfish,
to find out what is happening, what the festival is about
and to try to get any local gossip. If the "weightlifting"
is some sort of contest I will try to get involved,
especially if it is a drinking contest, but will not spend
more than a couple of hours at the fair/fete/whatever it
actually is. I will then get some sleep to be ready for
whatever start is needed in the morning.
Depending on sleeping arrangements;
If watches are suggested I am happy to sit a watch if we
are in a common room but if in smaller rooms would like a
full nights sleep.
Jeath
Not interested. I'll help stable the horses and the wagon and turn in
early, preferably to a private room. Carnies are nearly always ripoffs, and
I don't feel like trying to find the catch right now.
I still plan on standing watch and riding scout if need be.
Christeel
Christeel will help and see to the horses and then to the wagon.
"I will take first watch over the wagons this night, while
the rest of you can go check out this city, I'm sure that
when my watch is over there will still be plenty to do."
Christeel will climb up on top of the wagon to start his watch, he
will check the area for any possible problems and then settle down
to his watch. Christeel will listen to the tune being played by the
flutists, He will try to duplicate the turn.
After Christeel watch is over he will walk around for a while taking
in the festive atmosphere. He will ask any ladies that seems willing
that are near the stage if they would care to dance to the lovely
music. If he comes across any that seems of particular intrest to him
he will ask them for a second dance. Christeel will keep this up for
a few hours and then turn in for the night unless of course he finds
a companion for the night.
On his way to rest Christeel will make sure to pass by the wagon and
see how the current watch is going
Darrin is startled by your desire to find an inn. He was
rather enjoying the show, but he tears himself away to lead you
to an inn with stables. As two stableboys come out to take your
horses, Darrin grins and says, "You can stand a watch if you want, or
stay in the inn and sleep, but I'm for having some fun tonight and
the inn here will take good care of our wagon and goods." He nods
towards where the young men are taking your horses and wagons, and
through the open barn door, you can see other vehicles as well.
"I will tell you this though. These are carnival workers as Jeath
has pointed out and they're making their way to Waterdeep for the
big fesival. So this will be fun, but nothing compared to what
awaits us. So go enjoy yourselves. We leave early in the morning
though," he reminds you still grinning broadly.
Onyx and Foldis both head off towards their fellow dwarf and
Jeath heads into the inn. Darrin looks to Christeel and then nods
his head towards the center of town.
