History:
Between 2314 and 2398, the Free Worlds League saw enourmouse expansion. The systems around Andurien had a long history of being traded back and forth between the League and The Capellan Confederation. In 2398, the Capellan Chancellor declared war on the League to win this area back. This was the first war in a string of wars that is made up the Age of War. This led to large scale destruction across the Inner Sphere, which eventually led to the great houses and two Periphery states to sign the Ares Conventions in 2412. This convention banned the use of nuclear weapons and restricted use of force against civilians.
The Age of War saw the Terran Hegemony's development of the first BattleMech in 2439. The Lyrans and the Federated Suns got the technology soon afterwards. By 2462, the League also possessed the knowledge, thanks to a group of Lyran technicians the defected with a complete set of 'Mech plans. In 2475, BattleMechs were used against each other in battle, by Steiner and Kurita forces.
The Age of War ended in 2556 when Ian Cameron negotiated the Andurien Peace Treaty, ending the Third Andurien War between the Confederation and the League. Several months later, the secret Treaty of Geneva was signed by the three. This layed the groundwork for the creation of the Star League.
