Game Markers
The idea behind all of these
markers is to make them blend into the terrain, and match the bases I have
done on my figures. The goal is to avoid the clutter of tape, felt, and
cardboard markers/counters.
 |
These are some status and
effect markers I made to go with the terrain and figures. They are less
obvious than cardboard counters or dice. Each one will be for a distinct
purpose, depending on the game. I will probably make some with green reeds,
and a couple different color mushrooms, for more available choices. The
rocks are just plain rocks (pebbles), the reeds are paint brush bristles,
as used on the boards, the mushrooms are made with green stuff and wire/tooth-picks,
and the trees are some commercially available trees that someone gave me
years ago, but I never used until now. |
 |
I made some Mud Trail markers
out of basswood, with rounded ends (for turning to different angles). The
base was textured with glur and sand as normal, but I went back and smeared
the center part arround. After it was dry I painted this center trail darker
brown, and added a coat of gloss barnish to it, so it would be glossier
and look wet compared to the dry terrain surrounding it. |
 |
The Magam Trails were done
in a similar manner, though I painted the trail itself bright orange, then
drybrushed black over the top. |
 |
The Wall of Smoke (froma
smoke elemental) is done the same way, but with tufts of cotton "smoke"
glued to the base. |
