DRAGON LORDS
BLOOD BOWL FRANCHISE
A Written History
The Dragon Lords were born on the 7th of April 1994 when the lord of the Dragonlord family of Har Ganeth in Naggaroth, Lord Samuel von Dragonlord, decided that to prepare for the planned Dark Elven invasion of the Old World he would firstly prove the Dark Elven superiority in everything by beating every race at their favourite game - Blood Bowl.
Firstly Lord Samuel planted his agents and found people willing to join together in a league, giving himself the chance he wanted to prove his dominance. After some cleverly placed bribes and assassinations he had managed to join a tournament to test out his new franchise - the Dragon Lords. In their first year their success was modest, only runners-up in the Chaos Cup and not even making the final of the Seafarer's Cup in Marienburg! After he had the coach fed to his Cold Ones before he went out to do battle in a clash with some pitiful High Elves, slaughtered these elves bringing more fame to his name, he approached Lord Samildanach, who agreed to coach the Dragon Lords in their conquests.
The second year Lord Samuel began the organisation of his dream - a league he began that was later named the Geelong/Melbourne Blood Bowl League. Lord Samildanach brought the best out of his players and in tru Dark Elven superiority and dominance he coached the team to win every single game! Lord Samuel was so impressed by the way the Dragon Lords dominance was achieved he built a stadium for the Dragon Lords and called it the Dragon Dome. That year, in 1995, the Dragon Lords went all the way and finished by smashing a poor wood elven team 3-0 in the final of the Blood Bowl.
Not satisfied only with this, Lord Samuel and Lord Samildanach began to put together a team that would take them all the way again in 1996. A scare that almost destroyed the combination - a loss of 2-0 on the first game of the year almost saw Lord Samildanach fed to the Cold Ones like his predecessor, but he staved off this fate by killing all four assassins sent to get him and took his team out for a whipping, then coached them to 4 victories and a draw from 5 games to assure them top spot on the ladder and a placing in the finals. He also went on to coach them to two practise wins, including the franchises greatest ever win, 5-0 against Das Blitzkrieg.
We all await the finals to build on the success that the franchise has created.
