Heralds and Rumours
Kingmage of Orion allies with Whitesnake.

Perhaps you have wondered, as have many good people, who or what is the Kingmage of Orion. This one time hero of the Uprising, Falstaff Conorion, was a wizard who learned to lose much of his humanity, as is commonplace for soldiers of war. He grew to prominence in the former Wildlands of the Middle, by selling his war-wizard skills in a mercenary fashion, an activity which is frowned upon by wizards everywhere.

After somehow raising an enormous castle in the middle of a muddy swamp, he, and his mercenary companions, began consolidating their power, both in the region and in the disreputable Hawk City. One day, a great scourge of magic and demons swept through the Wildlands, heading for the swamp Castle of Falstaff. There eventually came a great battle, in which hundreds upon hundreds of men, women and children died. In the end, Falstaff and his companions proved victorious over their adversaries, and the people of the region (many of whom were fugitives from the righteous justice of the surrounding Kingdoms) swore allegiance to this mercenary-cum-hero.

Never-mind that this man could very well have conjured the threat, himself, for he, and his companions, to the region from, "save." Never-mind that this man broke many of the fundamental moral codes of the magus. Never-mind that he is rumoured to have gained his magical power through demon-dealing and theft and worse. Let us just say that this man, and his cohorts, now rule the Kingdom they forged, from a populace of brigands and criminals, now called the Kingdom of Orion.

No, the fact that has remained hidden from us, until recently uncovered in lost war records, is that this, self-titled, Kingmage of Orion, once served with the widely known fugitive, General Whitesnake, the former Tyrant of Steafanoes, in the same brigade! How can one ignore the obvious truth? Both these men seized power and put themselves in a position of supreme authority. And one of them still commands a sizeable army, a great many other dangerous resources, and the other has already proven his evil, and is rumoured to be alive and well and plotting his return! And if General Whitesnake yet lives, and is hidden from his enemies, where could such a well known fugitive hide?! Perhaps with an old war companion who sympathises with his ideals, methods and situation?

Perhaps it is time that we seriously begin to question the motives and power of Falstaff Conorion, the self-appointed Kingmage of Orion. Perhaps it is time the very populace of the Kingdom of Orion question the leadership of this man, and remember what happened to the people of Steafanoes when they refused to question the leadership of a man known as Whitesnake. Perhaps it is time we ended the threat before it becomes a true danger. How many lives will it take, this time?
