Heralds and Rumours
Evidence of Kingmage-Whitesnake Plot.
Anonymous,
991 RT.Since we are all aware of the questionable morale fiber of the self-appointed Kingmage of Orion, (a man who seized power by staging a war against demonic creatures that he may have summoned himself to "save" the region from) and we are all aware of the past atrocities committed by the evil General Whitesnake, let us consider, then, where the senior ranks of the Serpent Army (which some speculate includes the tyrant himself) who escaped could hide. Where indeed?
Knowing that Whitesnake and the Kingmage were once close friends during the Uprising, and knowing that both men tried to change their identities, hide their past and seize power wherever they could, we can only assume that one is working together with the other. Yet, assumptions are not enough, so we must look at the irrefutable hard evidence.
In the allied effort against the so-called Serpent Army, the Kingdom of Orion lent a very small force to battle Whitesnake. For a Kingdom which supposedly believes in the freedom of religion, in the freedom of races and all manner of esoteric higher morals, they were rather reluctant to defend these beliefs against such an obvious enemy of these ideals.
In the official declaration of war, by Orion against Steafanoes, there is a section which states:
"A direct action will be taken if the dictator named is not removed three months hence, after which, The Kingdom of Orion will exist in a State of War with the Konigsreich die Steafanoes."Note that the Kingmage gives his old friend three months to strengthen his forces before he has to commit Orinian forces to battle. This is, in effect, a heads start, and a double play, where the Kingmage appears to be in compliance with the good nations it neighbours, yet is secretly in collusion with Whitesnake, whom he gives ample time to prepare, and whom he will best aid by attacking the allied nations from the rear. Had it not been for the timely intervention of Sothic forces, the war may have ended very differently, or at least it would have meant the deaths of twice as many innocent people and soldiers alike.
And most recently, the publicly known hero of both the War of the Wildlands and the Serpent Invasion, one Lord Kosoban, an appointed land baron of Orion, was proven to be an agent of Whitesnake. Are we to believe that this highly placed official of Orion had managed to keep his secret ties, to one of the world’s most dangerous tyrants, hidden from rulership of that country? Never a more preposterous excuse has been heard to distance a known "traitor" from his former peers.
It seems obvious that Whitesnake and the Kingmage are birds of a feather, and the good people of the world should shudder to think that the horror and pain of the Serpent Invasion could be repeated, once these two ruthless men are ready to strike. And this time, will we be able to stop them before they reach your home town?
