Part 7
EPILOGUE

Almost on cue a thin shaft of light passed through the window of Mycroft's,
illuminating Gar's face with the first rays of dawn. It was only then that
I noticed that the cooking fires had gone out and that we had been listening
to the story in complete darkness. The others too it seems had not noticed
the lack of light, but instead had been absorbed as totally in the tale as
they would in any dream on Allegria.

"I think I'll have to continue this later." Gar announced to the sound of
numerous groans and protests. "I know, I know, I need to tell this almost
as much as you want to hear it but..."  He Yawned.  "...If I don't get my
sleep I'm going to nod off soon. Good night all, I'll pick up this story
again this evening."

With that Gar left the establishment, leaving the rest of us to wander home
or to Allegria for some sleep. I wandered out soon afterward, stopping on
my way out to lightly scratch Robert behind the ears, as he slept with his
head on a table.  He smiled but did not wake up, and so I continued out into
the morning sun.

The dew was fresh on the ground, sending a slight mist up as my feet
disturbed the grass on which it was perched. I heard a noise behind me and
turned just in time to see Cookie shooing the last sleepy diners out the
door before she hung the CLOSED sign on the door and locked up for a while.
Toban waved to me, calling for me to wait for him. I was right, he had
wanted to talk to me, it's just that he'd been to busy to talk earlier.
We walked along for a while heading for the griffin stables and ultimately
Allegria island.  We both mounted one of the great golden creatures and in
a flurry of wings rose with the dawn.

Hullo, thank you for taking the time to read my little story. It's my first
work so far and I am quite proud of it. I have wanted to write a furry
story for quite some time but did not have the proper motivation, thanx to
my friends in Furcadia however and their constant nagging (thanx guys) I
finally got this one done. I hope to get the second and third chapters done
