Opposite Furres Equal Opposite Futures

by Gambitt

In the land of Naedor, lived two furres. Both furres were kind and polite, but one was conservative and the other was a binge and purge furre. Each owned a shop where the conservative got hardly any gold each month, and the binge and purge sold majorly priced items. When it came to monthly taxes, they both paid the same amounts, but in different ways. The conservative would save every penny he gained in his shop, then spend it on tax, saving the rest for something big. The other saved every penny from the shop, pay tax, then spend it all on drinks and parties.

Up in the heavens, however, were two gods conversing over the life of these two. They decided on giving a test to each to see how they would end up. The gods put a tiny plague on the two, making them pay higher taxes, and less time to collect money. This caused trouble for the two.

The conservative had less money to save, which kept him in grief. He feared raising prices because he was respected for having low costs. On the other hand, the binge and purge did not get used to the sudden change in timing. Every time he binged, the next day he had to pay taxes. He ended up raising prices, making many customers angry, and never coming back.

This plague lasted for a month as the conservative gained more population from the binge and purge's shop. In the end, the conservative got more money a month that the binge and purge, who eventually had to close down the shop, and live in the street. I heard from a reliable source that the conservative now lives richly in a foreign land, and the binge and purge living in a shack, selling used undergarments.

Moral: Each penny you save helps you achieve what you crave.
