Glitch for Koopa Troopa Beach
By: Ximon Zhu

On the player select screen for 1 player time trials pick Yoshi. Now go to mushroom cup and pick Koopa Koopa Beach. DO NOT USE YOUR MUSHROOMS FOR A BOOST OR ANYTHING ELSE AT THE BEGINNING. At the beginning after you pass the " giant rock turtle ", you will see a tree( the first tree you'll see on the course. Before you reach the tree you'll see the narrow base of the rocky cliffs to your left. Use your three mushrooms to get on the cliffs and line up with the tree which should be on your right. Now gently hold the A button for about 2 seconds and at the same time ove your joystick towards the tree on your right. You should slide down towards the tree and start tumbling and bouncing around and around in a cirlcle between the tree and the cliffs nonstop.

Target Practice
By: Chris J (strnghld@swlink.net)

If you want some moving target practice for battle mode that isn't a computer go to a multiplayer race (preferably 3 or 4 player mode) drive them to an open area. Now one at a time get the last players going in circles and while they are still going unplug the controler the players will go in the same direction untile you plug it back in. I like going in the Donky Kong Cave, the Bowser Gardens, the Yoshi Egg Circle, the Penguin Cave, or the Wario Dip(under the jump) .

Twice First Place
By: Ed Mejia via IGN64.com

On 3 or 4 players vs, you can enter twice on first place in the same race if you cross the goal line backwards. When you do so, the CPU will take control of the vehicle and will cross the goal line again. After the race is over, it will show two first places for the player who did that. It also works for the second place, but only in 4 players vs.

Instruction Manual Secret
By: Plob Grendle (pace@trump.net.au)

This cheat is not for the game, but it is something hidden in the Mario Kart 64 instruction manual! Turn to the pages with all the course maps, and look at the 3D picture of Wario Stadium (not the one that tells you where to go, but the really impressive 3D one). Now look in the top left corner, outside the stadium and into the distance. You should see, get this, the Skyscraper Battle Course! You can see it clearly, as it is tall, octagonal, and has those yellow numbers on it.

Wierd trick
By: ?

1)ok go into a the double deck battle mode with any number of players and and character. I SUGGEST 2
2) have player one get a red shell
3) have player two drive up onto the top top red
4) have player one (with shell) stay on middle green level, try to get right under player two (on red) but just a little behind them.
5)fire red shell.

if done correctly the red shell will STOP dead hovering benieth the player it was supposed to hit, it will have a blue mist around it also. now player 2 can drive the shell around as long as they stay on red

i told the players where to go just to make understanding it better but there are many possible places for this to start and the shell could also be driven from someone above too.

Go where you want!
By: ?

Have you ever wanted to go somewhere on mariokart64 that you just can't get to? Well now you can because I have discovered a real cool trick.Ok this is how you do it:
Fist go to 2 player race and pick your player (Toad and D.K.works best). Now pick the course that you want, now go and get a turboboost with Toad, after you do that go park D.K.in front of the crowd of people sitting in the bleachers (or where you want him) and back up a little. Now drive Toad over right behind D.K. and back up a little and use your turbo, almost at the same time JUMP!!! Now your driving on the bleachers! You can do this just about anywhere you want on any course you want.

Three tricks
By: K4Man (K4Man@msn.com)

I found that on Royal Raceway in 2 player mode you can knock people through the big jump bridge. 1st have both players complete the jump. Then have 1 get a shell force field or have him holding a shell, then drive him into the water, and when Lakitu drops him on the bridge don't move him. Next have the other player drive into the water (without any shells or anything) and when Lakitu puts him on top of the other player they'll be foorced through the bridge into the water.
Note: You might have to try this with different players doing both jobs. I usually have Bowser knock D.K. through.
(Update: I figured out that to knock a person through the ground you don't need to have shells. Just have Lakitu pick up some one and then have someone heavier put on top of them.)

On that same bridge if you have a shell force field or a shell being held drive right up to the bridge's barrier. The shells will go through the wall and stay on the other side. When you drive away they'll come back after a second or 2.

If you hold a spiny shell on any course in two player mode you can get one player stuck. Have one player brake. When the other one gets a blue shell have them hold it. Drive the player with the blue up to the other player, then spin them slowly. When the shell hits them they'll jump up. When they fall they'll hit again and keep jumping into the air. This might take several tries.

Battle Mode tricks

1. In the battle mode on the Big Donut, if you go behind one of the walls and let go of the gas you will start sliding. If you let your player keep sliding they will fall through the wall and you will lose a balloon.

2. On double deck in battle mode if you are driving near the wall on the second floor and you get hit by a shell you may go over a wall into some drink.

3. On Skyscraper on battle mode If you get a bomb and drop it when you are falling into a pit it will miracurously float in mid-air! If you come back to the pit and land on the bomb you will pop the other players balloon and not yours.

Get back in the race fast 2
By: Lucric

When you get hit by a box bomb or slip on a bannana peel or get hit and spin-out to accelarte faster tap "A" 3 times and on the third time hold it down. You will accelarate to "max" speed quicker than holding down "A".

More Glitches

Sherbert Land
By: Jared Bernard
This trick can be accomplished in Sherbert Land. It's inside the cave area. On the first post of ice with BIG penguins running around is where you do it. On the post there are several corners if you look closely. On any corner, get a little speed and hit it. You will go under the Post or something and dissappear. You will soon reappear on the other side somewhere but if you go slow enough, you can slowly come out of the post and be invisible. As soon as you get too far away you reappear. The Camera angle changes too. It might take a few tries to do it because you have to hit the corner just right.

Toad's Turnpike
By: Max Bitter
I found this cool glitch in Mario Kart 64. It seems similar to the climb-up-the-mountain and-fall-in glitch on Choco Mountain and Koopa Beach, but it's still kind of cool. Choose 2P Vs. Then choose two racers. Choose Toad's Turnpike. Take thesecond character you choose as close to a rail as possible. Take the other out and try to get an Invincibility star. Drive back to the other racer and turn on the star. Now ram into the other racer. If done correctly, you should knock him over the rail and through the wall. They will fall into a pool of water in front of the entire sky! It won't help you win, but it does look cool. But why would Toad make a highway around an pool? P.S. You need two controllers to do this trick, unless you want to keep plugging and unplugging a controller!

Frappe Snowland
By: Gils
On Frappe Snowland, as you jump over the river, go to the right so you land in the snow. Drive up the to the top of the little hill where Lakitu will pick you up. Then, if done correctly, Lakitu will then hold you above the river, hesitate for a couple of seconds, then you'll suddenly appear at the finish line. Unfortunatley, this cannot be as a shortcut, because when you pass the finish line it acts as if you're starting your first lap.

Wario Stadium
By: David
When you are about to start go backwards all the way back to where you land off the jump and you'll see a wall, drive and jump over the wall. Right as you see that you are going over let go of everything. The screen will be all blue, black, and the people in the stands. You can turn and look around but you can't hit the accelerator or it will disappear and go back to normal. To turn hold right or left and hit the "R" button. This might take you a couple tries to do.

Royal Raceway
By: John Skeats
I would think that everyone knows about and probably tried the shortcut in Royal Raceway where you jump go to the left at the end of the big ramp. Well, I tried it. I did not do it. But I did find a cool glitch trying. When the kart is looking straight forward on the ramp, there is a mountain on the right, and on the right side of that mountain, there is a little shore at the bottom. Now, at one point on the shore, the shore is a little wider than anywhere else. If you jump into this part of the shore, you will go right through and fall into "the lake in the mountain to the right of the big ramp," as I named it.

Koopa Troopa Beach
By: Aaron Orlosky
This glitch is for Koopa Troopa Beach. To do it you drive around the track until you come to 2 trees very close together after a left turn. Then line up right to the left of the trees and start to hop. As you are hopping try to steer to the right and land in between the 2 trees. When you land in between them, you will start to tumble and slowly sink into the sand and fall into water. It is really weird.

Choco and Koopa
By: Aaron Orlosky (aaron366@access.hky.com)
These are two glitches I found on Choco Mountain and Koopa Beach. To do the on on Choco Mountain whenever you start you must back up to the top of the first jump you run in to. Then turn to the left and whenever you see the two yellow signs start hopping up the mountain in between them. When you get to the top you will fall through to the track below. It might not work at first but I know it does.
The next glitch is on Koopa Troopa Beach. What you do is start the race like normal, but when you see the Giant Turtle turn left and look for moss on the rock then start hopping right to the left of the moss. When you get to the top you will fall into water and be able to see a jump and a tree.

Royal Raceway
By: Aaron Scher (Scher5@Juno.com)
In mario kart 64 there is a glitch in royal raceway. First get to the castle. Then look for a fence going to the left. Follow it until it ends. Jump at the part where it connects to the hill and you should go through the hill. If you don't just try it again(sometimes you may accidentally land in the moat).

Choco Mountain
By: Aaron Scher (Scher5@Juno.com)
There are a couple glitches I found on the Choco Mountain course. They both involve the mountain jump technique(where you drive and start jumping up the side of the mountain) ( you can also just hold A and B and drive up)
The first one is before the cave underpass. It is on the right side of the track. Across the road from it, is a sharp dip in the mountain. You can see the entrance of the cave underpass, but it is white because of the fog. Look on the right side of the road, you will notice a part which is a little less steep than the surrounding mountain side. Do the mountain jump technique up this mountain side. You will get really high. Than, when your almost at the top, the kart will fall through the mountain into a white abyss.
The second glitch is towards the end. It is on the right side of the road as well. It is directly across from the Nintendo bill board sign and right after the railing ends. Do the mountain jump technique up this mountain side. You will see a flat area in the mountain. when you jump to this, your kart will start spinning and you can't get out of it. After waiting about a minute you will be lifted out of this spinning by an invisible force. It's pretty weird and something new to do and try in Mario Kart. Enjoy.

Glitch
By: Aaron Scher (Scher5@Juno.com)

First, go to the double deck course in battle mode. Notice that you start on an extended square platform thing. Get off this and go to the very top story with the giant hole in the middle. Drive off the top level and fall to the platform where you started. As you fall, hold down the break and the left or right direction on the anolog stick. Now, when you fall down to the platform, some of you kart will be stuck in the ground. As your stuck in the ground spin around, it looks cool. If you keep messing around with this teqnique, you can eventually get the whole Kart stuck in the ground with the shadow suspenden in the air. This is just a wierd and different thing to do in Mario Kart 64. Enjoy.

Jump Start
By: 1wildcat@msn.com

This trick will help you when you start the race. If you start 3rd or below you can jump over your fellow racers. To do this you must continually press the jump button (R) when the race starts and you can move. This trick works when you get the speed burst.

Not behind you anymore!
By: Tiago Barros (abarros@correionet.com.br)

You can gain more speed to pass tha adversary if stay behind him and wolk from one side to the other, than (like in Indy car) you will stay at the "vaccum'' of the other kart and than you will ''cut'' the wind (appears some smoke on the sides of the kart, like if you were in a ramp)you will have a very little turbo, but enugh to pass him.

Bannana, who cares!!!
by: Dave Dimmer (FyinFlip@aol.com)

When you hit a bannana peel put on your brakes immediately. This will prevent you from skidding out. After you broke for 1 second release and giver the gas. This is really helpful in battle mode because you will not LOSE A BALOON. I found this very useful.

Get back in the race fast
By: Dave Dimmer (FyinFlip@aol.com)

When you fall off the edge and the little guy picks you up and the screen will go black. As soon as the screen starts coming back count - 1 thousand, 2 thousand, 3 thousand. Now pull your trigger and you should regain most of your speed. If you don't like counting wait until kart is about 2-3 tires abouve the ground then pull the trigger. This could help save you 2-4 seconds.

More shortcuts

Frappes Snowland
By: David Nicholson
On Frappes Snowland when you cross the wooden bridge at the end jump from the bridge to the right onto the snowbank without touching th track. Drive along the snowbank until you cross the finish line. Next turnto the right and head off up the snowbank until lakitu picks you up if the shortcut has worked he will put you down on the wooden bridge drive on and cross the line and you will have completed alap in less than 10 seconds.

DK Jungle Parkway
By: Pineda
In DK Jungle Parkway jump the ramp. Then you will be driving along side the water. You will go back inland and then back out to where the water is. Keep looking at the water until you can see the edge of the water fall real close to the edge of the land. You will need a mushroom to pull this off. Use the mushroom and jump as far as you can from the waterfall to the bridge. If you jump to short you will get stuck in "water-air" and the trick won't work. If you jump far enough (you do not have to land on the bridge) you will fall in the lake that the waterfall touches. Lakitu (the little guy with the fishing pole) should pick you up and put you on the bridge and ahead of everybody else (if your not losing very badly). This trick requires a lot of patience and willpower. Once it is learned it can be a very vital tool to win.

Banshee Boardwalk
By: Gils
On Banshee Boardwalk in the ghosthouse, I know many people know you can go behind the batbox, but did u know you can also get inside it? Just have one player get a red shell (or 3 of them), hold it behind them and line up with the batbox. Have the other player get a mushroom and use it into the shell. This takes a bit of practice. Once inside, you can get out by driving against the wall and jumping repeatedly.

Mario Raceway
By: Jay and Adam Kohler (abkmellow@aol.com, farout523@aol.com)
When you're attempting to get the best time possible, to reach the ghostrider, here's a tip that'll shave off those precious seconds. Instead of taking that curve right before the pipe tunnel, use ONE super mushroom, and cut through the sand, getting as close as possible to the wall. Do this right when you reach the curve, not on the straightaway.

Banshee Boardwalk
By: Jerome Holeyman
On Banshee Boardwalk, when you enter the ghost house, instead of going right, go left. This is a very hard trick, but superslide in the narrow way to the left. If done correctly, you'll land on the track over the star-shaped hole and have shaved off 6 seconds.

Nuko Beach
By: Chris & Jeff
On Nuko Beach after passing the finish line take a right and go right into the ocean, and keep going until the little guy picks you up. If done correctly he should bring you back before the finish line giveing you a lap. NOTE: Extremely hard to do, and it took me over 100 times to get it right, but after a while you'll get the hang of it.

Royal Raceway
By: Alan Man
This shortcut can shave off about 15-20 seconds if done correctly. First you have to get a mushroom, or if you're really good, you can do it without a mushroom. I only did it once without it. Then, on the hairpin by the lake, wait until you get just before halfway between the hairpin and the next turn. Just before you get there, you pull a hard powerslide to the left, use your mushroom, and jump. You should bounce off the wall and into the water. If done correctly, Lakitu should pick you up and put you right before the big jump.

Kalimari Desert
By: Tom Menning
If you have a Super Star, you can take a shortcut through the train tunnel and gain a lap on your first and second lap. To do the shortcut, you will need a Super Star. From the second crossing, turn left and follow the tracks to the entrance to the train tunnel. Activate the Super Star just before you enter the tunnel, and your lap counter will advance by one around the mid-point of the tunnel. This shortcut doesn't save as much time as you would think, because following the train tracks will slow you down. If you use the power star at the right time, you should still be able to save some time. Because you need a power star, it would be dumb to try the shortcut in Time Trials, because you don't get power stars.

DK Jungle Parkway
By: ?
You can advance the lap counter a lap without going around the track in DK Jungle Parkway. Try to jump into the wall to the left of the exit from the tunnel just before the Starting Line. Your angle of approach is important. If you angle too far to the left, you will fall back into the tunnel. If you angle too far to the right, the trick won't work. You want to fall into the "dark space" behind the wall. Lakitu will pick you up. If he puts you back on the track, inside the tunnel, the trick worked. When you go across the finish line from there, the lap counter will advance one lap. If Lakitu puts you back on the track outside of the tunnel, the trick didn't work. The best way to use this trick is to turn around and go into the tunnel right from the start. If you pull it off, you can get a 20-30 second lap on this course. If you do it one after another, it is possible to get 8-10 seconds on a lap, except for the first.

Noku Noku Beach
By: ?
This is the best trick you will ever know in mk64.(I THINK)
First try to get the supermushroom. Then, when you see the place where there are three ramps, use the mushroom and jump on all three ramps.Keep using the mushroom until you get to the third ramp. When you reach the top of it, Make a powerslide left, and press JUMP!!!. this will take you on top of the rocks(cave), so you can move freely where ever you want to.
NOTE: IF THIS SHORTCUT IS DONE WRONG, YOU COULD LOSE ABOUT 10 SECONDS IN THE RACE, BUT IF DONE CORRECTLY, YOU WILL LEAD THE GANG, AND YOU WOULD HAVE SAVED 20 SECONDS OF THE RACE.

Choco Mountain
By: bmt1@why.net
I found this awesome trick in Choco Mountain. As you go along the track you will make a jump and then see this gray stone wall with a rail on it on your left. If you do 150cc there will be no rail. Try to get as much speed as possible and then turn right into the wall. As you hit the wall jump and you will go through the rail (if there) and land on top. It is really helpful cause you get to miss those falling rocks. Remember, speed and timing are what matter for this jump. I have done it several times now.

Mario Raceway
By: Zeldo
Just before the mushroom turn there is a wall that has an intersection in it, you use a mushroom to jump to the RIGHT of it. You will wind up right next to the finish line.

Wario Staduim
By: Dave Dimmer
Another short cut in Wario Stadium. Look for the long straight away down the middle of the track which turns to the right. If you hit the wall to the left and jump you'll fly right into the finish line. Save's a good 10-20sec at least. This trick is very hard to do, keep practicing it. Also everyone knows about the 4th hump after the start, well if you miss it you can do it in reverse by hitting what was the first hump.

Wario Stadium
By: ?
I found the hugest short cut ever. You may not belive this but you will when you can do this trick. I got 1 12 85 on wario stadium. My lap record is 08 35. You ask how? Well at the begining where you jump over the wall, jump over. Then go a little way and right before you get to the first set of big ramps, turn around. The cloud should come out and say your going in reverse. Then procede toward the begining flag. Hop over the wall going in reverse to the beginning. When you jump over you have to land on the right side of the finish line or it won't work. It takes a lot of practise but once you get it you'll be happy.

Yoshi Valley
By: aaron366@access.hky.com
This trick is used in Yoshi Valley. After you land off of the jump mentioned in the shortcut you have posted, drive on the far right of the track and right when you see the fence is about to end cut hard to the left and hop at the edge of the track if you did it correctly you will land on a different part of the track missing the giant bend.

Wario Stadium
By: justin pedersen
The first short cut in wario stadium, every one should know about, the 1 where you jump over the wall at the 4 hills at the begining of the race, the next 1 is just after the biggest jump on this course. after the jump, keep driving straight forward, and drive into red and white arrows pointingright. right when you hit the wall jump, and you should go over.

Koopa Troopa Beach
By: Dwayne Tiller (Dwayne@why.net)
On Koopa Troopa Beach, instead of going under the passage before you get to the jumps and the tunnel. If you go right and go accross the water, you can go over a small turan and cut off alot of time. This is helpful if you can not seem to master the shortcut of the tunnel.

Royal Raceway
By: Russell (blitz000@dfw.net)
This little trick works about 5 extra seconds on Royal Raceway. Make sure to have a mushroom right before the monster jump across the river (or you can get lucky and get one after you land) Jump the river, follow the road left, then right, and then straight. When you are in the grass, hit turbo and aim for the grandstand in the background. You will miss the lake (i hate that lake) and wind up right at the finish line.

DK's Jungle Parkway
By: nvrreyes@ultracom.com
In the course "DK's Jungle Parkway" before you pass the ramp that fires you in to the air if you turn by the trees and go striate a the rail of the track, after you hit it push the R botten right away you should jump over the rail try it a few times to get better at it. It could save you anywhere from 3-6 sec if done right!! Hope it works for you!!!

Yoshi Valley
By: Patrick Troy
I found an awesome shortcut at Yoshi Valley. At the starting line get a good start and turn that corner by the little wooden bridge. Immediately after the bridge take a right and take a left at the little fork in the road. After that take another right turn into the first little tunnel. Cross the tiny rope bridge and you' ll see some porcupines. Pass the porcupines, and keep turning right until you jump down on to another part of the course.

Major short cut on rainbow road
By: Justin Pedersen
At the begining of the race,be sure to get the speed boost, and just before you reach the huge slop, turn left and jump off the road and try to land on the other part of the track!

Essential Mario Kart 64 Short Cuts
By: Toby Levitan

There are many short cuts in Mario Kart 64, most of which are easy to see and to execute. But even the most obvious ones are easily overseen, and Toby Levitan has organized them into a short, quick reference guide for Mario Kart fans to access.

We realize many short cuts have not been listed here, but we believe these are the real key shavers designed to clip off a few seconds, putting you ahead of your rivals in any mode.

1. Noku Noku Beach -- The waterfall: Many people believe this is only accessible with a mushroom power-up, but this is false. Gamers can make the jump off the ramp without a power-up. Just aim straight into the cave, use jump (the right shoulder button) make sure not to hit the walls, and jump right out from under the waterfall.

2. Hydro Pond (the ghost house) -- After driving through about half the course, your driver will enter the ghost house. Upon entering, take a right, but not as sharp as normal, and you'll pass by a wall on your left. Instead of aiming toward the bats, you'll aim slightly left and pass on the left side of the wooden pole. This might look like suicide, but jump over the edge of the star-shaped pool and you'll pass up that first-place player.

3. Rainbow Road -- Right at the start of the race there is a large hill from which each racer makes a slight jump. Oftentimes if you're aiming too far left or right your racer will fly off the course, which is not a short-cut. Here's the deal: just as the slope begins to descend, press jump and you'll fly much higher and farther than ever. This shaves seconds, and in the second and third laps, your racer should jump right over the heads of those difficult-to-see Chomps.

4. Yoshi Valley -- This course is a tangle , but here are a few short cuts that will enable you to beat just about anybody. Follow the course until you hit the mazey part. Immediately go left and stay left. The first part of the short-cut is to stay left and on the narrow part of the course.

After managing to do that, you'll hit a little checkered ledge, and you'll see a big red and white sign on the left pointing right. This is the hard part. Accelerate as fast as possible and stay to the far right. As soon as the rail on the left side ends pull a hard left powerslide off the road. You'll continue the powerslide onto the upcoming road after you land, and if you do it right, you'll have shaved off at least 10 seconds or lead the pack. Of course, this one takes a lot of practice, but once mastered, it can't be beat.

5. Donkey Jungle Park -- Near the beginning of the race is a self-propelling ramp which sends your racer across a giant river. This one is quite simple. Instead of jumping straight off it, aim to the far left and you'll be ahead of the crowd by a few seconds. It works.

Second, this course is full of sharp turns. Use the mushroom power-ups as you pass across the jungle terrain and though you'll be hit by coconuts, you'll still end up farther ahead than if you didn't.

Third, there is one cave on this course that disrupts many players because of its weird angles and hard-to-follow path. But look at the ground and there is a light-colored path, which makes it far easier to follow.

Fourth, upon entering the cave, accelerate to the maximum and aim toward the steep slope. If your racer is going fast enough then pull a hard left powerslide and you'll slide right up the slope, thereby shaving a few seconds.

Multiple Weapons
By: Lates

Ok this isn't the most exciting trick of all time but then again neither was the one telling us to hold down the gas on the second light at the beginning of the races. In any case, I've found it very beneficial to, say if you get a single red shell, you can press the z button and hold it down and the red (or green shell or banana) will all be stuck to your kart until you let go of the Z button. Then with one of these objects on your kart you can make other racers crash if they come up from behind you OR (and this is the best thing about this trick) you can simply bump into them from the front or the side and they will crash also. And another thing you can get other question marks while the shell or banana is still on your kart. Just a piece of friendly advice i think it'll help you out on just about every track.

Shortcut
By: Yousif

When you are racing in Wario Stadium you can make a shortcut!
1. After the start line try to get a good acceleration.
2. Before the forth small hill which is after the start line try to take a left.
3. At the top of the forth hill you should be vertical against the left wall.
4. Use the ( R ) button while hitting the wall and surly you gona jump a head of everybody else.

Update
By: Demoniac
On Wario Stadium, instead of getting the nitro boost and hitting the fourth jump to hop over the wall, _don't_ get the nitro boost and hop over the wall on the first hump. It shaves a couple of seconds.

Ghost Rider
By: Ray Gjergja and Pat64 (amercier@agt.net)

Go to the Luigi Circuit and race the course under 1 minute and 52 seconds (1:51). If you're able to do it you can then race against a ghost.
You can also do it on Mario raceway (1 min 30 secs) and Royal Raceway (2 min 40 secs). The ghost takes the exact path that the record holder at NCL has! Now try and beat that!

Mirrored Tracks
By: iNFERN0 and Rukes via N64 HQ

The first thing you must do get a gold on every race in the 150cc class. After you reset your machine, the title screen should have changed (the picture will be different.) Then, go into GP mode and you will notice a new option under 150cc. That's an option to race on mirrored tracks! They are NOT reverse tracks but mirrored tracks; they are not the same as the backwards tracks in Wave Race 64. Mirrored means that you're still going in the same direction, but the turns are flipped (except the Kinopio Highway board in which you're racing against the traffic).
