Welcome to the Gaming X-Treme RPG Question and Answer forum! With this in mind, the Q and A forum was designed so that people can find answers to questions they might have. That way, it saves time and is a more efficient system rather than E-mailing each person individually. All questions are NOT edited in any way.
Qi heard that ff7 is going to come out on PC is it true? My friend read it
in the curent issue of PC gamer.??????
AFinal Fantasy 7 is still looking for programmers so there is no definite release confirmation. But if it does come out, next summer more or less.
AFinal Fantasy 7 Intl' has had no American confirmation so my guess is....it's not coming out here. I'd say your best bet is to just go out and get 7.
AI highly doubt it will appear here. Besides, the FF series had more of an impact on the american RPG genre than Som.
QI actually have a few little questions about Square. I played
Secret of Mana and really liked it and I played Seiken Densetsu 3 at my
friend's house. Will there ever be a Seiken Densetsu 4 for PlayStation or
any other system, and will it have a better chance of coming to the USA?
Second question is about my favorite game, Chrono Trigger. I hear all of
these rumors about there being a sequel to Chrono Trigger, is there any truth
to the rumors? Also, if there is not going to be a sequel to Chrono Trigger,
are they atleast going to make a PC or PSX remake version? They did with FF
IV, have FF I-III coming, and FF V, VI, and VII, I guess CT isn't good enough
then, maybe. Last question, is there really a sequel to Star Ocean being
done by Enix, I heard they announced it at TGS? Please answer my questions
and maybe put them up on your page. Thank you.
AAlrighty, on the Seiken Densetsu. There has been some speculation that Square was making a Seiken Densetsu 4 probably for the PS but nothing has been confirmed. About the Chrono Trigger sequel. Square hasn't made any announcements so I am assuming they are making some beta thingy or something but we just wait... About TGS.. I am not too sure about Star Ocean being announced so I can't help you out with that. Sorry for the long delay, like you, I have a life too so now everything gets a little busier.
AI was thinking the same thing. It is probably what was said earlier in the year. Banpresto and Square will do more than a good job with this. Look for a special in the future.
QOn your web site, you say that the FF4 CG game is out on Playstation now. I
have only seen one picture in a video game magazine (of Cecil) and have heard
nothing about a release date. Is the game out in Japan or the US? If it
isn't out yet in the US, when will it be released? Will it be any different
from the Super Nintendo version? Please email me with an answer (I won't
have time to check your web site for a while, but I do check my mail more
often). Thank you.
AA lot of questions have been floating about concerning FF4 so I am just going to answer them now. FF4 is out now in Japan but not in the U.S. A release date hasn't been announced, but knowning times these days....anything can happen. The PS version features CG and a more movie like experience that the 16 bit one couldn't provide.
ARight now Parasite Eve is scheduled to be on one disc, and will have a FF7 esque feel with pre-rendered backrounds.
QFFT, FF7, and the rest of Squaresoft.
AHi Joe, thanks for the compliments. It will be all the better for Square to bring more of their great RPG to the states. Well, Tobal #1 wasn't all too hot, but it looked like bait when compared to Tobal #2. Tobal#2 will have towns and stores to explore which should make it am interesting game. It is rumored that Square is making a FF1,2,3,j compilation disc in Japan, but not much info is known on that. Next summer we can hope that FF5j will come to the PC however in my opinion, I wouldn't be too surprised if I saw it here. If any solid info leaks out, GXT RPG is the place to be.
AIn any way at all, Square is NOT a stupid company. Square is only developing for a medium in which will get their particular job done, and not ours. About the 64DD sales and such, Square will probably see how well it does in sales because if they(square) were going to be developing for it, they want a strong user base. Of course, we all know, if they wanted a good stable userbase for the unit, all they would have to do is announce a game for it :-) . You are right however that the 64DD does have a great deal of potential to unlock, some companies have found the key, but many companies are still searching for the door.
AThe Playstation was a better choice for what Square wanted to do with FF7. That is, high-res graphics, and tons of FMV....(good looking too) and of course, over 1 gig of data. 1800mb.

AAbout Final Fantasy Dungeon, it was never announced, it was just a rumor from an inside source stating that it was a possibility which is why I put "unknown" as the release date. I don't think the game will make much progress in the near future or at all, but if it were made it would be a King's Field, and Final Fantasy put together.
AHello, first of all, space is indeed relavant to the medium. Take the storage space of a 64DD disk and a CD for an example. Very big differentials in size, but the disk is rewritable. About Zelda with great detail, you are absolutly right about that the game DOES indeed look better and better. Zelda 64 will probably do what the other Zeldas did, that is reuse some of the other textures (and re-rendering it with different wireframes with the same textures: Zelda 64)just a thought. Besides, Mario was decently large, with double the space, you can really do a lot with double the space(16 megs)
1. If Square probably isn't going to release Saga in the US, then why did
they put it on the demo disc that came with Tobal 1? Are they taunting us?
2. Is Bushido Blade going to be released in the US? and if so when?
3. Is Final Fantasy Tactics going to be released in the US? and if so when?
4. I heard that the battle fields in FFT are going to be somewhat on the
small side, is this true? Are they going to be about the same size as the
battle fields in Vandal Hearts?
If any of the answers to these questions are somewhere in your page, im going
to have to look a little deeper next time.
thanx
bradford
AWhoa, a lot of questions....let's take it one step at a time. By the way, thanks for the compliments.
1)Square is not trying to taunt us, they just wanted to give us a preview on what they were working on. My guess is that they are probably not going to release it here, but hey, anything can happen.
2)Yes, Bushido Blade will be coming to the U.S. sometime around August.
3)About FFT, Square has said nothing about it coming to the U.S., but if it does you'll be the first to know at Gaming X-Treme RPG.
4)The battle fields in FFT will be 16x16, which is kinda small, but hey, it looks good! About the overworld, I don't know much about it, but it should be fairly large, unless it's like Ark the Lad.
No problem.
AFinal Fantasy Dungeon is a game still in speculation and thought by Square and From Software.
AHi, you are right about Shining the Holy Ark, it is said to be released sometime in June. About choosing the RPG system, if you really like Shining, then the Saturn just might be your buy, however if you are a fan of Square's RPGs, then the PlayStation would be your better choice. I must warn you however that most PlayStation RPGs by Square have not been translated, but then again, they can always be announced.
Bottom line, it's a tossup about Saturn's future, you may like Grandia, and Shining so go with the type of RPGs you like. you are better off getting one game you really like than two games you kinda like.
ASony uses a black coating on their CDs for security reasons like hacking
into games and such. The Saturn which does not use any coating on their CDs
had some hacking problems because of no unique security. Another addition
is that so it doesn't hamper CD players when trying to play them just for
music.
ASquare is aiming for a worldwide simultaneous release around the world.
A"Arms" stands for "Ancient Relic Machine"s
AI do not know exactly if you can order direct, but it is worth a try. About
SaGa Frontier, no SaGa title has arrived in the states to date, so I do not
think it to be translated. However, there is always a chance. Sorry to
burst your bubble.
AAs much info is available, the battles will be like Resident Evil where you
actually move the character around. It will most likely not be a menu
battler.
ASure it is amazing to see the games pumping out at a fast rate, but hey, isn't that good? About Final Fantasy 50 and 60, they probably won't even go up that high....
AIn Japan, Final Fantasy 5 and 7 have a good chance of coming to the PC, however here in the states, nothing has been clarified. Expect 7 for the PC more than 5.
AHonestly, I can not say that it has, nor can I say that it hasn't, but one can expect that some kind of progress has been made because Square's 1 month employee vacation is over.
AHighly unlikely now, however the possibilities are truly amazing.
AYes there is a sequel planned to Suikoden however the developers aren't sure as to what system they will use. Some of my sources say Saturn and not PlayStation, could be vice versa.
AYou will absolutly need a graphics accelerator for the 3-D stuff and maybe at least 16 ram with a 130Mhz processor???
ASometime in the summer of 98'
ATales of Destiny you mean? well it should either be sometime late this year or mid next year in Japan.

Seiken Densetsu 3.Like they did with FF VII..? - BIG SOM FAN!!! aka Mahyar

QI was looking through the previous questions, when I came over one about
Final Fantasy Dungeon. Do you think that this is any way connected with
Chocobo's Mysterious Dungeon?

QIs parasite eve going to be a doom styled game like shining the holy ark, how
many discs is it going to be on? by the way I love your web page
Q
1. Will Grandia be ported to the U.S? (I hope so, it looks awesome!)
2. Will the new shining force 3 be ported to the U.S. when its finished?
3. Can you give me a list of rpgs coming out in the u.s?
A
1. It is scheduled to be released in Japan in September weighing in one two discs. A U.S. port hasn't been announced, but Game Arts should really pick this one up.
2. Nothing has been announced so it is only a matter of time if there is an announcment.
3. Got to upcoming RPGs

First off I'd like to say the page is great! Secondly you made my day
with the news of Final Fantasy Tatics comming. Here's the crinkle. What
about FF4j, 1j,2j,3j, and most importantly FF5j coming to america.
(Please let it be!) *Gamers wish* Sub note, What got into Square's head
not bring Tobal 2 to america. That game blows almost everything that's
out here, out of the water. Sigh. Maybe I should take to Andrew over at
the Unoffical Square and try something. (Rambling check...) Any-who, if
you hear anything, I'd love it on the page. Keep up the great work.

QDo you think Square Soft is being stupid not to develop for Nintendo 64?
With the 64DD disks they must be. My theory is this: They are waiting to
see how RPGs do on the N64 and 64DD. If they do extremely well, they may
realize the potential.

QWhy did square abort the final fantasy demo project for n64?
the Zackers

QI am a regular patron of your fine site and one thing that keeps sticking
(to me anyway) is that you have Final Fantasy Dungeon listed in your
upcoming RPGs list. I contacted Ascii and they flat out denied it, but they
did say that they like to work with Square (who wouldn't?). I was just
curious as to where you acquired this info, because I haven't seen it
mentioned anywhere but here. thanx
QHow in the world is Nintendo fitting Zelda64 on a cart. Even if it is a
16 meg cart. Thats still only 16 megs. The detail in the game continues
to get better. I just can't figure out how they fit these games into
that little amount of storage space. Space isn't relative to the medium
is it?
6/18/97
QHello,
First i must say you have a cool site, it looks great, and its got the info
im looking for (well most of it). Now for the questions.
QWhat is Final Fantasy Dungeon? You have it on your Upcoming RPG's list,
but I've never heard of it.
QI am curious to know if you could give me an exact or even close date as
to when Shining the Holy Ark is to be released for the Sega Saturn.I
have heard a date of June 30th myself and am wondering if this is
true.Just one more question here.At the moment I do not own a Saturn but
am considering buying one.I only play RPG's and I see that the Saturn
has a few of them coming out before FF7.Also I am a big fan of the
Shining series from Sega.Shining in the Darkness for the Sega Genesis to
this day remains in my top 5 favorite RPG's of all time.Well the RPG's
would be the main reason for my buying the Saturn. Now I am wondering
with an outlook like mine based only on RPG's would you consider buying
the Saturn a waste of money or a decent investment?Well thats all and
I'm sorry if this was a bit to long.Thank-You for your time and I look
forward to your reply....

QHere's a simple question. Why are the bottoms of Playstation CDs black?
Someone suggested that it has to do with making them harder to copy with
CD burners but I find that explaination hard to believe (what could they
possibly have to do with making copying CDs more difficult?)

QParasite Eve, I know will be Square's next FF like RPG for the PS. When
will it be arriving in the U.S.?
QWhat does the title "Wild Arms" actually mean anyway?
QI am a RPG fanatic, but I live in the states and have limited access to
many titles. I have a PS-X and a N64. I was wondering if there is any
way you can order games direct from the company via mail. And is three
any possiblity, or hope, that Saga Frontier will be released in the
U.S.?
QI just wanted to know if "Parasite Eve" by Square will be more of a
traditional RPG with turn based combat,or will it be more of an
action/rpg?
QWith the speed of modern game development, say, Final Fantasy VIII already on
it's way in 1998 when Final Fantasy VII was just released in 1997, will this
be causefor more sequels? Will I live to see Final Fantasy 50? 60? With the
SPEED that these games come out, it is absolutely amazing that we can even
keep up with them. You know what I mean?

that true?
QHas development started on FF8?
QWhat kind of possibility do you see of a multiplayer RPG?
