"Our top story this evening. Peace negotiations between the largest
forces in this part of space are under attack. The Earth ambassador
walked away from the negotiations this morning. The remaining parties
are rumoured to be at a loss. We now go to Frank Sanderson, our
Earthling correspondant."
"Thank you James [Edgell]. Earth left the negotiations for a universal
treaty to prevent further violence between these races earlier this
morning. There was no official response to my request for an interview
by the Earhtling Ambassador although there are quite a bit of rumors
around the colony. One rumor has Earth upset about mineral rights on
claimed worlds. Another is the inclusion of several pirate groups in the
negotiations via satelite. With Earth out of the negotiations there is
little hope in a universal peace. Let us hope that Earth reviews its
actions and rejoins these negotiations. Back to you James."
"Thank you Frank [Sanderson]. I would like to remind our viewers at home
that the deadline for a peace draft is the 28th of this month. It is
believed that this deadline may be extended if a treaty is not reached.
A member of the Chig negotiation team has mentioned that the date was
simply set for the sake of Aerotech interests and represents no date for
