This league is a science-fiction league based on the show Space:Above and Beyond, which is currently in re-runs in North America and Europe. Each person is a high-ranking officer in any of the military groups. Each person is given command of five ships, (ten for the highest ranking pirate officer). These five ships can be distributed among the planets in the starfield (available on the web-site). The ships are moved around in an effort to capture and destroy enemy targets. Players e-mail their associates to gain support for attacks. The best way to beat the enemy is to consolidate a massive force. Information about the game will be sent out as a fake news broadcast. Occassionally players will be able to mail the news station(me) and submit interviews. From time to time some information will be leaked to the news station about possible ship build-up's. Most will be rumors to make the game more fun but I may just leak some real information. Once a suitable number of players have joined the game I will also allow double-agents to play in the game. The whole idea behind the game is to have interaction between players so that it seems as real as possible. If there is a promotion, which senior officers can do, it will be announced. Officers are given command in a hierarchy pattern. The first person to join a side is given the rank of General, then Colonel and so forth as listed on the web site. Ranks of lower officers skip every other rank so that an officer can be promoted ahead of someone else but not be the rank of their superior officer. This is not the first league I've done, and some of you have been in my other leagues but hopefully this one will retain enough support. I want this to be almost like a serial game. Enemy's between officers of different races would be nice. Also once double-agents are allowed there will also be covert assault teams available. They would be assasins and saboteurs mostly. This is a good time away since the league begins in June. I put it in June so that everyone is free with the summer and can pay better attention to the league. Now for battles. Since ships are from different races they would fight eachother is they meet. Ships are given ratings and are matched numerically according to a program I have yet to create but will eventually. Each ship will be rated seperately which means that if one ship has many wins their rating is higher than a ship just out of the shipyards and two ships are usually better than one. I've tried to make this game very easy to play but able to get more complicated if anyone wants it to be. I hope this is the kind of overview that you, the players, wanted. I'm not a mind-reader, if you have any specific questions you will have to ask me yourself.
