	---Game Options:
After selecting your character you will be given the chance to select "Normal" or "Turbo" speed.  Turbo is a great deal faster than Normal.  In a two player game, the challenger will be given the option to choose speed for the match unless both players start a new game together in which case player 1 will select the speed.  If a human player continues then the winner will select the speed.
You will also be given a choice of "Auto-Block" mode.  In this mode the computer will automatically have your character block up to ten times per match as long as you aren't attacking.  You can also press 3P or 3K and have the computer automatically chain them into a combo.  You cannot use regular chain combos.

	---Other Things You Need to Know:
At the bottom of the screen there is a meter that increases when you are hit, perform certain attacks, or block an incoming attack.  This is the SPECIAL Meter.  It can hold infinite levels of SPECIAL energy.  Each level is a different color bar going from blue to green to orange; there's also a counter next to the bar but levels past nine will be indicated by "SPECIAL" instead of a number.  When filled with at least one level you may perform an EX (Extra Special) move, which will use one level of the meter, or you may use a normal attack with the ES (Enhanced Special) effects listed below them in the moves section below, which will also use one level of the meter.

Using ES moves has been altered since the last game.  Unlike the first Darkstalkers, the next special move you perform won't automatically use up the SPECIAL Meter.  To perform the ES version of an attack you must perform the attack with 2P or 2K instead of the usual P or K required.  If a move requires P+K then you must use 2P+2K.

Throws are UNBLOCKABLE.  They can still be escaped so that you take less damage and don't fall helplessly to the ground.
Note: throws that are character specific special moves are blockable unless otherwise labeled, but no special move throw can be escaped.

If your character becomes stunned (stands on screen while you have no control over them) from taking too many hits or from getting hit with a move that instantly stuns (stuns opponent) then you may shake the joystick rapidly and tap all the buttons rapidly to recover from the stun quickly.

Most special moves and EX moves will cause your opponent to take a little bit of damage if they block.  Some characters have normal attacks that will cause block damage as well.

After blocking you will be unable to use any attacks for a brief second.  However, each character has one move that will cancel this stunning effect.  This move also acts as a counter attack since it will come out immediately after your opponent hits you and they are still in their attack animation.  The move command must be input immediately after blocking or just as you block an incoming attack.  These moves can also be used to recover from an attack that knocks you to the floor.  In that case, you must input the command just after hitting the floor.  You may choose to use the ES version of your attack if you have a level of SPECIAL energy available. When two projectiles meet, a force system is used to determine what the effects will be.  The force of a projectile is measured by the total distance of flight possible minus the distance traveled.  A projectile with more force will cancel another projectile and continue moving.  Equal forces cause the projectiles to cancel each other.  ES projectiles will cancel a normal projectile and continue moving.  If two ES projectiles meet they will cancel each other.  EX moves that create projectiles or beams of energy will also cancel normal and ES projectiles and continue to travel across the screen.  Some other special moves and EX moves will cancel projectiles.

You can select your character in eight different colors depending on which buttons you use to select your character on the select screen.  Pressing HK will give you the original color of the character from Darkstalkers 1 while pressing Start will give you the second color of the character from Darkstalkers 1.  Pressing WP+MK will give you a special dark color.

As with all Capcom 6-button fighting games, the strength of the button used to attack or to initiate a special move will determine the amount of damage the attack will do, the speed of the attack, the amount of recovery time from performing the attack, and the distance the attack travels.  The stronger the button the more damage the attack will do and so on.  A Jab punch does little damage, is very quick, recovers instantly, and has little range, whereas a Fierce punch does much more damage, is very slow, takes a long while to recover, and has a long range.  The same is true for a fireball thrown with a QCF+WP or QCF+HP.

Auto Guard select - on, off, free (turn auto-block selection on, off, or have the computer randomly activate auto-block)
Maximum rounds - 1, 3, 5 (the number of rounds that must be won to win a match)
Background music - hunter, classic, random (select music from Night Warriors, Darkstalkers, or let the computer randomly select)
Scenery - hunter, classic, random (select backgrounds from Night Warriors, Darkstalkers, or let the computer randomly select)
CPU color - hunter, classic, random (computer selects colors for computer controlled fighters from Night Warriors, Darkstalkers, or let the computer randomly select)
Animation - full/cut (replace cut animation frames, slows down game play 
BGM test (listen to all the background music)
	Note: the full animation is only enabled in mirror matches (same characters fighting each other).
Once activated, this code will be saved into memory if you have a memory card in place.

	---Non-Shaded Pause Code:
Go to the options screen,
Move to the line "Screen Size,"
Press A, C, Y, Y, up,
There should be a sound.  The screen will not darken when you pause.

	---Debug Code:
Set the Saturn's internal system clock to "January 24, 1998."  Return to the Saturn main menu, highlight the "Start Application" button, press and hold A+B+C to load the game and keep holding the buttons until the game's intro music begins to play.  Now, go into the options menu and activate the "Appendix Code" above.  Go into the Appendix menu and set "Background Music," "Scenery," and "CPU color" to "Classic" and set "Animation" to "Full."  Return to the main menu, wait for the demo mode fights to begin, and press Start while the demo fight is going on.  Go back into the options menu and do the following:
go to "Difficulty" and tap: X, X, right, Y, Z,
go to "Turbo Speed" and tap: X, X, right, A, Z,
go to "Screen Size" and tap: A, C, Y, Y, up,
go to "Default" and tap: Y, X, left, A, B,
go to "Configuration" and tap: B, X, down, A, Y,
go to "Appendix" and tap: X, X, down, B, C.
After each code, there should a sound.  After entering all of the code, you should hear a howl.  Reset the Saturn using the "Reset" button.  When you return to the Saturn's main menu, highlight the "Start Application" button, press and hold A+B+C to load the game and keep holding the buttons until the game's intro music begins to play.  You should hear the intro music from the first Darkstalkers playing if you did everything correctly.
This will activate all three of the above codes as well.
Once activated, you may enter any of the following codes at any time during a fight:
Show Damage (number above life bar shows damage taken in points) - down+R+X,
Show Collision Boxes (frames appear around characters, green frame=area can be hit by red frame to take damage, red frame=area can hit green frame to cause damage, blue frame=individual character sprites) - down+R+Y,
Skip to Ending (view character's "End Game" cinema) - down+R+Z,
Freeze Life Bar (no more damage is taken) - down+R+A,
Freeze Timer (timer stops counting down) - down+R+B,
Freeze SPECIAL Bar (SPECIAL energy cannot be gained and is not lost when performing ES or EX moves) - down+R+C,
Frame-By-Frame - pause and tap L to view game play one frame at a time.
Repeat any of the above codes to deactivate them.
Once activated, this code will be saved into memory if you have a memory card in place.  You must load the game by holding A+B+C when selecting "Start Application" each time you turn the game off then back on.

	---Change End Game Song:
After defeating the game in Arcade Mode, press and X+Y+Z+any direction just before the ending credits appear.  If you do this right you will hear a new song playing instead of the usual end game song.  This song sounds similar to the music in Felicia's stage.
