	---Game Options:
On the character select screen, the first character you select will be your fighter and the second character you select will be your partner.  Your partner is only used during a match for Team Up Techniques.
At the end of a round, you will have the option of switching your characters so that your fighter will become your partner and your partner will become your fighter for the rest of the match.  Just look at the bottom of the screen to see your characters' pictures and an animated joystick moving back and forth.  Tap your joystick left or right to switch between your characters.  The character picture in the front that is lighter will be your fighter while the other your partner.  After you have selected your fighter just press any button.  If you do not wish to switch your characters then simply press any button without tapping the joystick.

	---Other Things You Need to Know:
At the bottom of the screen there is a meter that increases when you are hit, perform certain attacks, block an incoming attack, dodge, Tardy Counter, or taunt.  This is the Burning Vigor Meter.  It can hold nine levels of Vigor energy.  One level of Vigor energy is used up when you perform a Burning Vigor Attack.  Team Up Techniques use two levels of Vigor energy.  When you see your partner's picture in the box next to the meter it means that you have at least two levels of energy.
When getting hit, attacking, blocking, or dodging, you will receive only a small amount of Vigor energy.  However, if you Tardy Counter an attack you will receive one full level of Vigor energy.  Taunting gives you 1/3 of a level of Vigor energy.

Throws are UNBLOCKABLE.  They can still be escaped so that you take less damage and don't fall helplessly to the ground.
If you try a throw while close to your opponent while their back is facing you then you will perform a different throw from what you would normally do face-to-face with the opponent.  Throws performed while behind your opponent cause more damage and cannot be escaped.
Low Throws cannot be escaped.
Note: throws that are character specific special moves are blockable unless otherwise labeled, but no special move throw can be escaped.

Press Start during a fight (Select on Playstation) to taunt your opponent.  Taunting will give you 1/3 of a level of Vigor energy but nothing else.

Every character has a move called a "launcher."  These moves will send an opponent straight into the air unable to block if they connect.  After launching an opponent, tap U to jump up with them and perform an "air burst" by hitting the buttons in a certain sequence.  Experiment with each character to see in what order you can tap the buttons to cause the most damage.  You can also use some special moves and Burning Vigor Attacks as part of an "air burst."

Most special moves and Burning Vigor Attacks will cause your opponent to take a little bit of damage if they block.

When blocking an attack you may choose to perform an attack of your own to counter attack your opponent.  This move, called a "Tardy Counter," will come out immediately after your opponent hits you and they are still in their attack animation.  The move command must be input immediately after blocking or just as you block an incoming attack.  You will get one level of Vigor energy if you perform the Tardy Counter correctly.
Only certain moves may be used as Tardy Counters.  Any special move or Burning Vigor Attack may be used as long as it is not a grab or throw move.  You may not counter with a simple WK, WP, HK, or HP but you can hold a direction on the joystick and press a button.  You may even use a launcher as a Tardy Counter.  You may not use a Team Up Technique to Tardy Counter.
You may Tardy Counter while air blocking as well.

If you finish your opponent with a Burning Vigor Attack or Team Up Technique then you'll see a big, colorful explosion in the background.

Most characters can perform a "Text Book Combo" by pressing the attack buttons in a certain sequence.
While standing next to you opponent, tap either weak attack button twice, either strong attack button once, hold the joystick in any direction and tap either strong attack button once, then perform a special move or Burning Vigor Attack.  For instance: WK, WK, HK, F+HP, QCF+P.
When you come to the part where you hold a direction and press a strong attack button, you may choose to perform a launcher (D/F+ HP or HK) to launch you opponent into the air and continue your Text Book Combo with an Air Burst instead of just a special move.  A few of the characters can perform a launcher in place of the special move in the basic Text Book Combo set up.  That means you must hold a direction other than D/F and tap a strong attack button then immediately hold D/F and press another strong attack button.
Some characters don't follow the basic Text Book Combo pattern but most do.

The final boss of the game is Raizo.  When you fight Raizo in chapter 7 he will have any character in the game as his partner but they will be brain washed and have a special, darker color.  The brain washed partner does more damage when performing a Team Up Technique than they normally would.  Hinata, Natsu, Tiffany, and Kyoko will perform their second Team Up Technique if they are Raizo's partner.

When two projectiles meet they cancel each other.  The button used to throw a projectile doesn't matter when projectiles hit each other; a projectile thrown with QCF+WP will cancel a projectile thrown with QCF+HP.  Burning Vigor Attacks that create projectiles will also cancel special move projectiles and continue to travel across the screen.

The strength of the button used to attack or to initiate a special move will determine the amount of damage the attack will do, the speed of the attack, the amount of recovery time from performing the attack, and the distance the attack travels.  The stronger the button the more damage the attack will do and so on.  A Light Punch does little damage, is very quick, recovers instantly, and has little range, whereas a Heavy Punch does much more damage, is very slow, takes a long while to recover, and has a long range.  The same is true for a fireball thrown with a QCF+WP or QCF+HP.

	---Tricks and Codes:

	---Chapter Skip:
When playing in "Story Mode," you may face either Hideo and Kyoko as a team or Raizo by himself as a mid-boss.  They take much less damage than usual so their life bars don't go down as much as usual with each hit you connect with.  If you manage to defeat them, you will skip a few chapters and immediately move on to chapter 6 or 7 depending on which characters you are using.
You must have a partner in the same school as you fighter for this to work.

	---Fight Hyo and See True Ending:
To fight against Hyo, defeat Raizo or his partner with a Team Up Technique in any round.  You will face Hyo in the last chapter and he will have no partner.  Defeat Hyo and you will see all of the game's credits and your character's true ending story instead of the ending you normally get from beating Raizo.

	---Free Partner Selection:
When the game is first installed, you must choose your partner from the same school as your fighter (characters in same row are from same school).  However, once the game has been installed and operational for two weeks, you will have the ability to choose any character as your partner.
By choosing a partner from a different school as your fighter, you will not get to see an ending if you beat the game and the last boss will be Hyo instead of Raizo and he will have a brain washed partner.

	---Brain Washed Character Color:
You can normally select your character in two different colors depending on which button you use to select your character on the select screen.  However, once "Free Partner Selection" is activated, holding Start and pressing any button to select your character will give you the brain washed color.  This color is what the character looks like when he/she is Raizo's brain washed partner.

	---Play as Hyo or Raizo:
Once the game has been installed and operational for three weeks (one week after "Free Partner Selection" is active), you will have the ability to choose Hyo or Raizo.  In order to first access them you must do the following: wait for the three week period to go by, insert your credits, press and hold Start until the selection screen appears.  Hyo and Raizo's pictures appear on the selection screen.  After you have done this trick once and placed their pictures on the selection screen, there will be no need to do it again because the bosses will be on the selection screen from now on.

	---Play as Sakura or Akira Without Her Helmet:
Once the game has been installed and operational for four weeks (one week after Hyo and Raizo are selectable), you will have the ability to choose Sakura or Akira without her helmet.  In order to first access them you must do the following: wait for the four week period to go by, insert your credits, press and hold Start until the selection screen appears.  Two red arrows appear above Hyo and Raizo's pictures on the selection screen.  To select Sakura or Akira without her helmet, move your cursor to Hyo or Raizo and press up.  After you have done this trick once and placed the arrows on the selection screen, there will be no need to do it again because they will be on the selection screen from now on.
Akira without her helmet is basically the same as the normal Akira with her helmet on except for a few move changes noted in her moves section above.

	---Non "Time-Release" Codes:
The following codes have the same effects as their counterparts above, but by using these codes you won't have to wait so many weeks for the tricks to be active.
To activate these codes you must have access to the game's configuration systems.  You have to open the machine's front panel with the arcade attendant's key in order to access these systems.

	---Free Partner Selection:
Instead of waiting for two weeks before you can freely select your partner just do the following:

The characters that were time-released in the arcade version (Raizo, Hyo, Sakura, Akira without her helmet) are available on the character select screen when using either the "Arcade Disc" or "Evolution Disc" without having to wait for them and without having to use a code to access them.  Sakura and Akira without her helmet are still above Raizo and Hyo like they were in the arcade as indicated by the two red arrows above Raizo and Hyo's pictures.
Daigo and Hayato are at the bottom of the select screen as indicated by two red arrows below Hideo and Kyoko's pictures.

	---Bonus Costumes:
Hinata, Natsu, Tiffany, and Kyoko each have an extra costume.  You must defeat the entire game with each character in their school in order to access them.
	Hinata (wearing a T-shirt and panties) - beat game with Batsu, Hinata, and Kyosuke.
	Natsu (wearing a tennis outfit) - beat game with Shoma, Natsu, and Roberto.

In order to access one of the mini-games, you must beat the game at maximum difficulty with a certain set of characters.  The first character listed must be your fighter and the second must be your partner.  You can switch between the two during the game but you must defeat the last boss with the first character listed.
	Kyoko's Office (Kyoko can give you "massages" if you have a Dual Shock controller) - beat game with Kyoko + any character.
	Service Mode (volleyball game) - beat game with Natsu + Roberto, Shoma, or another Natsu.
	Home Run Derby (batting game) - beat game with Shoma + Roberto or either Natsu.
	Penalty Shot (goal kicking game) - beat game with Roberto + Shoma or either Natsu.

	---Domestic Evolution Disc Hidden Characters:
This trick only works if you are using the domestic (American) version of the Evolution Disc not the Japanese import version.
Simply beat the entire game 24 times on any difficulty level.  You will gain access to one new hidden character each time you beat the game so after the twenty-fourth time you will have them all.
All 24 appear in the same selection box on the character select screen.  Place your cursor on this box and press left or right to change the character in the box.  Once you have found the character you want just select them as usual.
These hidden characters are based on the results that you would get from using the "Edit" mode found on the Japanese import version.  All 24 of the hidden characters use a mix of moves from the regular characters along with a few new moves and some moves found in other Capcom fighting games.
