Story: Uh, like in every SFZ game, there are lots of individual 'mini-stories' for each character, which at times connect with other characters own stories. Bison is still after Ryu's power, as Ryu is trying to get Akuma, and so on. In the PSX version, we are treated to even more of the story thanks to the additional characters in the home version. The Game Itself: Hmm, one word: W-O-W. Capcom has outdone themselves this time with this home conversion. Everything the arcade had, and lots more, have been added for the home version of SFZ 3. For starters, there a plethora of options asides from the traditional 'versus mode' found commonly in any good fighting game. There's a 'Practice Mode' (very useful, trust me), 'the World Tour Mode' (where you can train a character and make it pretty powerful), 'the Survival Mode', where you'll go against horde after horde of opponents with ine lifebar, the 'Dramatic Battle Mode', where you and a buddy (or the computer) can brawl against a cpu-controlled enemy, and last but not least, the 'Pockestation Mode' (stay tuned for more on this). Also, the home version of SFZ3 has more secrets characters than ever before, and all of which will be released only to the best players. Good luck finding them! Music and Sounds: Did you actually get to hear any music in the arcade? no? well, neither did I, but the music in SFZ 3, although not the best in the series, is quite good, specially Bison's music, which is a nice example of the evolution that the game has gone through. Sound speaking... well, nothing spectacular here, but your traditional fare of 'smacks & pows' that have become familiar to SFZ players. Final Lowdown: Get this game NOW! it is very, very good! If you're a bit like me, a SFZ nutcase, don't hesitate to get the import version, it won't matter whether you know japanese or not (most menus are in english), and you'll thank me over my recomendation. It's Street Fighter, what else can I say? Gizmo's "Did you Know?": The 'PocketStation Mode' I mentioned before will let you play as any character on such device, as some sort of virtual pet, ala Tamagotchi. My guess? It's just some gimmick someone thought of, and that will probably be removed from the american version of the game, to avoid delays on it's release. |
