The World of Sports

What would the world be without sports? BORING! Anyway, I just want to blab about a few sports I am interested in, so here we go.

Paintball

(That's a paint splat)

Now here's a real sport. Guys running around with markers (not literally) trying to tag the other players while getting to a flag or some other such goal. Its a real rush to play, and well worth the cost (most are about $30-$40 for a day, including paint and gun rental and mask). Get off your duff and try it, you'll be addicted. Just be ready for the welts you will have after playing if you get hit where you weren't sufficiently padded...those suckers will stay for a couple weeks, and if you take it in the neck, its one big hicky for a while (I know someone that took one like that and got a lot of flak for it...).

I just got myself a couple of markers from my bro-in-law. An old Sheridan pump rifle (modified, also known as the "home-made gun" because no one these days recognizes it) and a Sheridan VM-68. ROCK!

Baseball

Ah the great American past-time. Gotta' love baseball, but I have watched little baseball the last few seasons. It kind of lost its greatness to me, and since my current fav playor is benched with a major injury, I really don't watch. Its still great though, good to watch, funner to play. Yeah, yeah I know you're saying, "good to watch? Ha! What a joke!" Well it is, and you must be some football junkie if you disagree. Hell you'd probably think I was crazy if I told you I watch Lacrosse and REAL football, i.e. soccer. So whatever.

As an afterthought, why do they call American football, football if you're not supposed to be using your feet?

Hockey

Oh now this is a nice sport. Everyone is so kind to each other and never hit each other with the sticks they carry. Its a game without violence. Yeah right. The common saying "I went to the fights and a hockey game broke out" is quite true. You just have to love the game though (or at least I do). There's nothing quite like playing it either. Though I have no "true" favorite team, I do have fave players, those being Ed Belfour ("The Eagle", though now he's a Shark, yuck!), Pavel Bure ("The Russian Rocket"), and Tony Granato (dunno if he really has a nickname). Anyway, enjoy your hockey and watch it all the time.

Sports Links

Warpig Cool paintball site filled to the brim with all sorts of info and such.

If you notice there's not many links, most I had were outdated, so I took them out. I'm working on some new ones though.
