Skull Chuckers....

Simply put, take as many Skull Chuckers as you can afford! If you can take four do so, as this ensures at least one hit per shooting phase. Remember that Chuckers cause a unit to take leadership tests when wounded, so you could get lucky and scare off a unit before they get to you! Also, they don't allow an armour saving throw, so either shoot at those big scary Heavy Knights to get them out of the way, or rack up the victory points by massacring the enemy rank and file troops.

Ben Hur ahoy! Chariots...

Chariots, along with well tooled up Horsemen should form your strike force. Equip the crew with bows, shields and light armour. Upgrade the Chariot to include sythes and you have a Warmachine that charges 16" and automatically causes s5 d6+2 (for the sythes) wounds. A rather kinky tactic is to tool up a Vampire Lord with the Claw of Nagash, Black Amulet, Carstein Ring and Heart of Woe and put him on a chariot. The Claw causes 2d6-toughnes wounds no save, the Heart of Woe should kill most things within 4" of the VampireLord should he die and he has the Carstein Ring to come back to life(?), and the Black Amulet to protect him once back...KAMIKAZE!!!!Kill those Characters!! A bit beardy though this one and not much use in Tournaments..

Is it a bird? No, it is a bloody great big Carrion coming to bite your scum Elf head off (Sorry got carried away!)

Carrion are really useful for getting rid of pesky enemy Warmachines, as they move 24" and can fly up high and dive down on them. They cause fear, so the enemy may run off and will be easily caught with the Carrions 3d6 pursue... However, don't bother attacking anything except Warmachines and crew as they aren't strong enough to see anything else off. Once they are dispatched to an early grave, you can use your Carrion to harry the enemy from the side and rear.

I will lump Zombie Dragons in with Carrion as they perform the same sort of function. Although not that strong, they do cause terror and can fly 24" so take one along and use it to scare the bejaysus out of enemy rank and file and warmachines, oh yeh and bite a few heads off at the same time. But it is very rare that a Zombie Dragon will cause the sheer damage to justify taking it, although it can attract a lot of enemy fire which would be put to better use elsewhere...
