Blast Corps

Combine action and adventure with destruction, and you have Blast Corps. In the game, a transport is locked on course. You must destroy everything in its path to lead the transport to safety. The game includes over 50 destructive levels packed with tons of bonus levels.

Each stage requires you to use different vehicles to clear a path. Two of the main vehicles are the Ramdozer and the Backlash. The Ramdozer is one of the best all-around vehicles. The Backlash is an armored dump truck. This vehicle is the hardest to control since you must hit buildings with the side or back of the vehicle by doing doughnuts. The Sideswipe, J-bomb, and the Ripsaw are some of the other vehicles included.

The graphics in Blast Corps are superb. The buildings and vehicles look very realistic. The demolition of the buildings are also realistic, as you plow through them. The sound is great, including the rumbling of falling buildings and other structures.

The stages do get a little repetitive; you are always trying to save the transport, but the different scenarios and vehicles make up for it. Each scenario makes you think about how to accomplish your task. Blast Corps is more than just driving a bulldozer right through buildings, although part of the game does include this for all you overly destructive people.

Six scientists are also scattered throughout the planet. Once you aquire them, they will help direct the transport to a safe place to blow up.

As you might have figured out, the storyline isn't all that good, (tearing down cities just to get this runaway transport to a field?) but the excellent gameplay makes up for it.

Overall, the game is really fun. Destroying buldings and other structures is really cool. The game is equipped with a lot of features and vehicles to keep the challenge and gameplay at its best.
