The game includes two different styles of hockey. The simulation game is a 5 on 5 game which is more like real hockey with penalties and all. The arcade game is 3 on 3 with a faster, rougher pace in mind. The rink is smaller, more goals are scored and there are no penalties so you can check and high stick the other team all you want. There are fights that break out on the ice and you get to slug it out one on one. The arcade has more effects like flaming nets and humiliation goals. Wayne Gretzkys 3-D Hockey also supports four players for even bigger, bloodier games. You can also play an 82 full season game or skip right to the playoffs and go for the Stanley Cup.
Overall, I feel Nintendo 64s first sports game is one of the better hockey games out there today. Rating: |
