You stand within the ruined mess-hall of the Army of Angmar. This large rectangular room, carved from the very rock of the Misty Mountains, once could seat all of the members of the Army of Angmar, as they ate their communal meals before heading out on the Dark Lord Sauron's business.

A loose panel has been removed from the eastern wall of the mess. This secret passage, once hidden, seems to lead to a mass burial ground.

Long stone trestle tables and uncomfortable benches run from one end of this hall to the other, the benches pitted and worn from years of constant use. Most of these tables and benches now lie in ruins, smashed almost beyond recognition by the Army of Angmar when it left this outpost.

On one of the trestle tables at the back of the mess-hall, you find a tattered old recipe book, containing various recipes used by the skilled cooks of the Army. As any soldier knows, a good feed is essential for morale, and the cooks of the Army were experts at providing tasty and nutritious meals out of almost any ingredient.

Leafing through the recipe book, you realise that you can't read most of the almost illegible scrawl used by cooks jealous to guard their culinary secrets. Towards the back of the book however you find a legible recipe for the famous Hobbit Stew, which you can read if you like. There is also a recipe for Roast Hobbit, which is apparently quite tasty as well. If you like Roasted Dwarf's Head, then you are in luck, as there is a recipe for that as well.

If you have the inclination, you can enter a recipe into the tattered old recipe book, although you are not sure whether the recipe will be left there, or torn out by outraged chefs.

When you grow bored of this hall you can head west to the corridor.

Alternatively, if you know where you wish to head within the halls, you may consult your site map to take you straight there.
