Kambi and Kaliki Kept Kool ~~ Came Out the Champs!!!! BruceM1 and Ptrish Perish in Play but Prove Proficient as Pards!

Kaliki (umm, looks a little "made up" don't ya think? LOL

28 teams compete for the Title of Euchre Champs! Every team played great games and the final match of the night was the team of Kaliki/Kambi winning over the team of Ptrish/BruceM1 by only 1 point!!!! GREAT GAME U4 :)

After the initial shock of winning wore off, the champs made their way to the "interview room" (ok, actually it's the same room as the tourney, but use your imagination here people! sheesh LOL)

Kaliki wins her first Euchre Partners' Tournament in at least a year!! hehe Well, the truth is, she hadn't played in the tourney for that long! (for those of you like me who can't remember yesterday... Kaliki was one of our 1998 Tourney Hostesses). WTG KALIKI!

Now for the stuff you've always wanted to know, but were too afraid to ask.....

Kaliki is "female....be sure they get that part...lol Older than dirt ;)" , and to clarify that statement "dirt is ageless <G>" !! She was "born and raised and still live in California...one of the only ones... lol". (only one what?? even we were afraid to ask!) Her nickname is from.. well I better let her describe it since this editor only speaks "southern hick" English.. LOL.. "Mele Kalikimacaw....means merry christmas in hawaiian, and was the name of my wonderful greenwing macaw that died last year...." **our sincere condolences, Kal :( **
Kaliki's "divorced....3 kids....4 grandkidlets" (ummm...don't think she meant that she divorced the 3 kids.. lol). She is a "Controller (although mostly it feels controlled...lol) for a pet supply distributor .....so i can afford my habit <G>" Editor's note: guessing her "habit" is owning so many pets.. just a guess though! lol She also took this opportunity to announce that she's "searching...needs to be a rich hawaiian landowner.. oceanfront preferred" (picky for someone as old as dirt, ain't she??? ROFL) Now that she has won would be the perfect time to solicit this: "probably would be the perfect time to put out a plea for a partner while they still think i can play" She didn't think we would quote her?? LOL
Oh yeah, here's Kaliki's family:
"Karen, Richard, Erynne (children) grandkids: Brieanna, Kyle, Shayla, Colton. -- taking bets on who can pronounce Erynne <G>". Although we really don't remember asking (sheesh the gal just goes on and on and on.. well she hasn't talked here for a year!! ROFLL)
Kambi is 40 and was born in Nebraska. (editor's note: We apologize to Kambi... when we asked Kaliki "How old is dirt?", Kambi thought it was an interview question..to which she replied "do I have to answer dirt question?" ROFL) She is single and now lives in Oklahoma. Kambi has "3 kids 19b, 17g, 12g". She works "at doc's office as receptionist and whatever else they need" (nooooo, editor will not comment on "whatever else they need"!! LOL) Her nickname "was bambi changed it to kambi more original" and she's played Euchre "almost 10 years offline over 2 years online".
Kaliki's favorite things are "Beaches, birds, hawaii and chocolate ~~ favorite book is Illusions by Richard Bach ~~ tv show...Fawlty Towers ~~ music... Olomana, Thru the Years (its hawaiian)". (big surprise, huh?? LOL) Kambi likes to "have date nights with kiddo watching her shows", she also "Love all Tom Cruise movies - watch 7th Heaven and Dawsons Creek - Love the song Old Time Rock and Roll" or was it "late date nights with Tom Cruise? umm, we'll have to check on this!
These Partners were a pleasure to interview and as nice to us as they were to each other:
In Kaliki's words "NO ONE is more amazed than me that I was part of the winning team...my partner was great....I owe it all to her!!!!!" and Kambi obviously felt the same "I LOVE YA KALIKI! My pard lost out - GLAD I HAD YOU!" **editor passes tissues ~~ little toooo much emotion there.. LOL**

OUR WEEKLY "WINNERS COMMON DENOMINATOR"! And as always, we dig and dig until we find something in common between our champs :) Yes we had to dig DEEP this week, but here it is:

In the CONSOLATION TOURNAMENT, the team of gppMiLady/Ispy007 overcame the team of jenka/Neeners in a fierce and sometimes confusing match (final score 6-4???? oh well... we didn't ask what that was about!! Why make trouble?? ROFL)

Although Ispy007 kept losing pards....we had to go searching for Milady after their win (she had a date? lol), these 2 agreed to give us an interview :)

Ispy007 has been playing euchre for 2 years, he is 52; "born oklahoma city, live in oklahoma city". He's married (although we didn't get an answer to Milady's "happily??" ROFLL) and has "two girls, elly 7, monique 24". .... whopper of an age difference there.. wtg Ispy!! He enjoys "mountain biking, hiking, out doors" and works at a "unit parts co. director of lost control" Editor's Note: That explains why Ispy fits in so well here.. lots of us have lost control!! His favorite movie is "Stripes"; and song is "Come as You Are" (which could also be our Tourney motto! Thanks Ispy! LOL)
Milady is a "graphic designer, self employed, Internet Axis" and we appreciate her eagerness to answer our questions, well all except the 2nd one..."AGE??????? are you NUTS !!!". However she finally did reveal her..umm, (true) age? "10th anniversary of 29". We did think she was just a bit paranoid about our grilling..umm, er.. Interview: "phone number 2?" "and if you think i am gonna tell you my weight!!!!....think again!!!!!!!!!!!!" We don't get THAT personal until your 2nd win! *VEG*
Milady is "Canadian" and a single mom of two, "adam 16 brian 8". Her hobbies are "bugging anita and lisa" which we think she does VERY well :) Her favorite movie/tv show/song is: "Robin Hood (with OMG Kevin Costner)....Friends....Friends In Low Places". Her nickname definitely says a lot about this gal :) "MiLady came from Robin Hood....WW won't let me use M'Lady (from olden times)....when i was young..used it since i became royalty" (OK, exactly what it says about her, we haven't figured out yet..
