SSM Four Hours of High Pressure
Westgate Timeshare Resort Issues
Date of Incident: 7/28/2003
I agree with you on the pressure tactics of Westgate resorts. I spent 4 hours in their high pressure room (as I call it). They sent over person number one through four. At first three were talking to me at the same time. They were pushing me into buying a time share and I was telling them that I wasn't interested. They finally said they would send over the supervisor.
The supervisor was a bigger nightmare (the supervisor was a woman). She told me that she understood but she wanted to offer me a deal. I could stay for two nights for $49 and it was a great deal. I told her that I didn't want it and if she would sign the paper so I could leave. She told me why don't you just take 10 minutes to think about it so I told her I had to go to the restroom.
The salespeople and the supervisor told me where it was. I got up to go to the restroom, what I was going to do was hide in there for a few minutes then leave out the back door. I didn't care at that time if they signed the paper, I just wanted out. But to my surprise, after I walked into the restroom in walks the lady supervisor. At that point I didn't care if they saw me or not I left the restroom and walked out the door.
What won't they do to get you to buy?
