WM had trouble getting his tickets
Westgate Timeshare Resort Issues

Date of Incident: 12/30/2002

I just wanted to share a similar experience my wife, 3 year old son and I had with West Gate. I ordered a vacation package from Special T Travels that included a 5 Day/4 Night stay in Orlando. Let me first say I have been fairly pleased with Special T Travels so far and by no means is my displeasure directed toward them. Pretty much everything you said happened to you happened to us. The last person kept asking us what we didn't like about them, and I told her that if she took rejection personally then she needed to find another line of work. They also didn't want to give us any paper work stating our discounted tickets they had promised.

And the worst part about the whole deal was they called us at our home with their offer of discounted tickets if we would tour their properties. How did they get our information and know that we were going to be in Orlando during that time? Do you know if different travel companies sell their client lists?

Are you familiar with Calypso Cay? We had a tour with them and they weren't near as pressuring as West Gate. After they asked us if we had ever been on a Time Share Tour and if we had was it something that interested us and we answered we had but were not interested our agent said we did not have to proceed with the tour. We did have some trouble checking out because they did not give us a voucher stating be had been given permissions bypass the tour. I'm watching my credit card statement to make sure they don't try to charge my card any additional fees that they said have been charged due to the fact that we "refused", that's what they said we did, the tour. if you have any information about this company I would greatly appreciate letting me know about them in the event I have to dispute the "tour refusal" claim.

Thank you again for your stand against rogue companies like West Gate. For future references, I'm not from Florida so I can't speak from experience but you might want to suggest to people that they contact the Office of The Florida Attorney General. I have heard about other states A.G. investigating unethical business practices and would think this would fall into that category. Just a suggestion. Thanks again.
