May 30,1998

• Check out Gamespot's E3 preview of the PSX version. It seems that the PSX version will have a neat theater mode so you can watch the FMV (ending movies) whenever you want (after you unlock them like in Street Fighter Ex) :) Right now they say there are 2 blanks which could be Noob & Goro's endings. They also say that the movies at the end are better than the arcade!!!
• Online Gaming Review has some info on the PC version of MK4 that was shown at E3. They say it's only 30% done, and at this time it does not look exactly as good as the arcade. 3Dfx is being natively supported right but they say that a Direct3D version is probable in the future! If you have a Voodoo 2 class boards, they said that you will get the true arcade experience.
• E3 had an interview with Boon and Mikicic! Go to Midway.com to see a special interview with Ed and Dave. You need Real Player to down Load it!
• Gamepro Onlinehas 15 sound samples from Mortal Kombat 4! These samples were taken directly from the coin-op's audio board! They have them in two different formats, WAV for Windows and AIFF for Macintosh! You can download them individually, or do a ZIP file download for Windows or a HQX file for the Mac to get the whole collection!
• There are rports of a code that has been discoved to get Goro, and Noob. They are not all completely confimed yet, but here they are (from TRMK and MKX)

  • Go in to options, then go to the Vs Screen Enabled option and then hold BL+RN for about 10 seconds to reveal the secret menu.
  • Nintendo64 :
  • Go in to options, then go to Continue Options and then hold BL+RN for about 10 seconds to reveal the secret menu.

  • Prince Goro :
  • Select the Hidden button on the select screen and then move up 3, over 1 to Shinnok and then press RN+BL together.
  • Noob Saibot :
  • Select the Hidden button on the select screen , then move up 2, over 1 to Reiko and then press RN+BL together.

• MK4.com has updated their page! Wow, the last time they did that.... Anyway there are sneak peek shots at the endind sequences in the game. They look very good. Oh, I knew I should of found a way to go to E3! :(

• Gamespot has the first Preview for MK4 on the N64. Yes the N64 version is now complete!!! They gave high marks for sound and music. One flw that is giving is that the N64 controler gets in the way and makes it a little difficult to do some of the multi-button fatalities. Go here for more info!!

• Sorry for the delay in updates, I was on vacation, but I am now back!!!
• Ed boon has a special Behind the Scences look at the making of the MK4 commercial. Go check it out!! You can also download the commercial from there, if you have not already!
• Gamespot has new screen shots of MK4 at home. There is info on the new outfits there as well!!
• Midway Games will have live interviews during E3 (the 3 day Eletctronic Entertainment Expo held in Atlanta, GA.) On Friday May 29th, Ed Boon and Dave Michicich will be interviewed live from the Midway Booth at 1:00 EST. They will be talking about the making of MK4 and the secrets behind the N64 and PSX versions. Go to the E3 Page at Midway.com for more info.
• ]{ombat over at http://www.kombat.com found out some information regarding MK Krusaders(the one hour live action tv series based on Mortal Kombat).
  • The series will be produced by Threshold Entertainment and filmed at Splendid China in Orlando Florida and broadcasted on the WB Network. Fans will be able to watch the filming at the park and will be allowed to take pictures while filming is going on.

• During the BroadCast primere of MK on TBS last night, they aired the commercial for MK! It had live actors in it dressed up like the characters from MK4 (sort of like the ad for MK2 , remember?) Take a trip over toKindom MK Where they have some pics and even an AVI of the Commercial!!!
• In the ad, there seems to be a shot of that bunny person that was in Boon's preview! Heh, I wounder if this is another secret Character????

• The Original Mortal Kombat Movie is on TBS tonight at 8:00pm EST!!! Well, you better be getting your VCR's powered up!!
• I am starting a MK4 Competition!! This goes out to all the MK4 players in the NYC area(this inclueds Northern N.J. and Lower Westchester)! I want to get a competion going!! I need some really bad and if you do to E-MAIL me and we can set something up to play for fun, or even prizes(if we get enough people)

MKX has discovered a easer way to do Shinnok's Goro Pit. The old way still works, but this way is eaiser!! The new movements are: F, D, B, HP (close) May 12,1998

• Go see Ed Boon's Movie Preview of the home versions of MK4. The movie is about 12 MB uncompressed and about 9 MB compressed.

• IGN64 had an exclusive interview a few days ago with the Eurocom team and they talked about some things about MK4 on the N64. Here is some of the main things they spoke about:
  • Goro is included plus a new level(the snow stage) and some more extras.
  • N64 version is a 16 Meg cart, and uses the actual music!
  • The N64 version will supports the Rumble Pak and Memory Pack.instead of MIDI and 10 minutes of speech for the endings.
  • It will be 60 frames per secound! That means there won't be too much of the game going in slow motion while you are playing!!
  • There is a Practice Mode, 3 Endurance Modes, and a 8-player Tournament mode and new kombat kodes!!

• Next-generation has anoter preview for MK4 for N64. They have 3 movies to download!! Everything seems to be comming along nicely!! The backgrounds do animate like the arcade!!
