First of all, GREAT SITE!It is really a delight to see a good fansite, and you have really done an insanely good job!
For all those that have handling problem with overpowered rear wheel drive cars, here are some tips.If the car is to tailhappy,a combination of hard front and soft rear tires and a gearbox makeover will do the trick.I have a fully tuned Supra RZ,and it was undrivable, until I changed the ratio of the first gear to the shortest and the second one to the longest. This will mess up your start a bit,but the car won't spin out.By the way,I drive full downforce on ALL tracks except the test course where I use the least downforce possible.Manipulating the gear ratios is one of the most beautiful things, once you take the courage to mess with them,The Subaru Rally Impreza's topspeed handicap was easily eliminated, and I took my fully tweaked Skyline to 441 km/h that way.
Finally for GT2, I'd like to see some maintenance. If you don't clean your car or take it to some repair guy,a motor should blow up,or some other damage.Plus, there should be more cars from the non japanese manufacturers, like Ford ZX2's,Dodge Neons,Chevy Caprice and Impala, and some more european manufacturers. No Trucks,no Bike's,no dragracing. That would really be too much.Maybe some night driving? And how about a pitcrew for long distance racing? What was bad was that there were no computer opponents in two player and Hi-Fi mode.Else than that, the game is flat perfect. It really is the best racing game ever found for a concole.I can't wait for GT2.Hopefully it comes out before I am completely crazy.

Thanks you very much to you, Dusan! I guess this is the very last mail that I received! Good luck

Thank you for putting out such a great web site! WOW! I am a great GT fan (played it for months straight) have yet to be humbled by any other driver. I'm not the best ( I know that there are players who can probably beat me), I just haven't met any one who can truly whip me!
Anyway, some good things to see in GT2 would be: a) be able to 'upload' cars from the original GT (like Armored Core 2) from your memory card. b) Link-cable mode would be GREAT!( how about up to 4 or more players?) c) Being able to race with more cars involved-computer or human. d) I know that they are going to have somewhere around 20 tracks and over
400 cars, but it would be nice have those tracks be able to race front, back, and mirrored. On the topic of cosmetics for the cars, how about change the rims(wheels) of cars as well as the color of the car? Or how about having more than just TWO color options to the Limited Edition or race modified cars? That's all for now, but let me say once again:
"GREAT SITE!!!" ; )

Its amazing that people haven't mentioned Mercedes-Benz. Writing this e-mail comes to mind a few examples, some new, some old. '99 E55, '98 600SL, '98 AMG 600 SEL, the '97 CLK-GTR. for a retro look, I was wondering if they would bring back the '54 300SL (I would say very similar to the Corvette in GT1).
A few other cars come to mind, the Dodge '70 Charger Hemi 7.2Liter, or Alfa Romeo Milano 155Cid V6 Ti Touring Car Racer.
For more Hi-Tech entries it would be nice to see the Corvette Indy, The Ital Design Nasca, Ital Design Cala, Nissan R390 GT1, or even the Peugeot Oxia.

If you want images I can furnish them for you. These and other cars would make the Gran Turismo Game Series more complete, and bring the hay-day of Gran Turismo Racing back.

You were asking about the 67' chevy in your letters section I believe?
I was wondering the same thing so I searched the web in detail, seems the only way to get a '67 corvette is to use the "gameshark" (I'm not sure I dont own one). If thats stooping to low for you, you can find someone with one saved on there card and trade with them, just keep telling yourself that they got it legitamately =)

Fiat - Barchetta, Coupé, 500 Giannini, 127 Sport.

Alfa Romeo - Spider, 75, 155, S30.

Peugeot - 205 Rallie, 405 T16 (Paris-Dakar's winner in early '80), 406

Porsche - 928, 944, 962, 969!

BMW - M3, 850.

Mercedes - 190, SL, SLK.

Austin - Mini!

This is my wishlist for GT2, a list wich include some of the most popular cars of our history.
I really hope that GT2 will have a large choice between more constructors and compatibility with GT's garage to have the opportunity to use ours olds cars.
I don't want to let in my garage my Subaru Impreza, GTO, DB7, Civic, Galant, Celica...
I hope to that the programmers will use the same illumination system of Ridge Racer Type 4, the circuits lights are so smooth and reals!
Damages are welcome to, imagine that you can break a weel during a race, this will rush us to have more precision in the curves and more respect for the others racers.

GT was for me a big emotion, for a lot of years I waited a god car's simulators... I buyed the japanese version, the music is better!

Which game give's you the impression that you're loosing your car in a curve with some vibrations on your controller?

Wich game allow you to feel the HP in your hands?

I'm crossing my fingers... GT2 will smash out all the others racing games!!!!

Tank you for your interesting page, now I want to compare my times with the GT racers of the other side!

Bye
MAX

PS - I had I dream, why polyphony don't try to make a good F1 simulator?

First I would like to commend you on such a fine page, this is the best Gran Turismo site that I have ever seen. I think that Gran Turismo is the best game that I have ever played. Well I would also like to make some suggestions for Gran Turismo 2. I would like to see alot of things on Gran Turismo 2.
First more american such as, Ford, Pontiac, Saturn, Gmc. I would also like to say that I think that having Trucks and motorcycles as part of the line up would be a fine idea. I mean if we were 2 add this, the game would be one of the best racing games ever made. Also they should have some sight of collision damage and scrathes, had make you have to pay a fee based on the damage. They should also have parts from real manufactors, they should also let you pick biggger or smaller muffler's and that should effect the sound of the car. They should also allow you to change the rims of your cars to different designs
etc.... I would like to thanks you for reading this and your prompt response will be appreciated!

Hi it is me again I also have another suggestion for Gran Turismo 2 They should have in car view, with a detailed interrior of each car.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In car view will be good, but seems impossible as there are about 400+ cars, may need > 3 discs to do this!

My sincerely compliments for the site, is stunning!
Don't mind for my Italian origin but... What about to add these cars?

FIAT PUNTO GT Turbo
FIAT COUPE' 20V TURBO
RENAULT CLIO 3.0-24 V6
PEUGEOT 106 Rallye
PEUGEOT 306 Rallye

I think that would be great for an European guy to find in the best driving game ever his car...

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I've driven Fiat Coupe 20v Turbo, it's shape and power is real good..

1st > I have a 95 GTO MR that seems rather undrivable (930hp) with a stage four turbo..is it my settings or is stage four strictly for high speed (not twisty) courses? the concensus seems to be that this car is very popular .. ill take my Cerbera LM over this GTO anytime, any course...any GTO setting tips would be much appreciated..

When it comes to acceleration and top speed, you have to play with the gear ratio settings. Of course it is best to custom tune all your your settings to suit your own driving style. Unfortunately it could take a long time to get a feel of what each setting does and how to get the best setting for your car. Fortunately there are a few sites out there which post decent settings for various cars. Here are a couple I found pretty useful:

http://members.aol.com/Greedo1/GT/
http://www.granturismo.com/tuning/index.html

2nd > what, where, when, how, can you use the "increasing engine displacement " option?

I would imagine that this option is for older carburated (non-fuel injected) cars. This would probably act as an HP booster in place of a ROM Tuning computer chip, since older cars don't have computer controlled fuel injection. This is similar to the Normally Aspirated Tune option, availible to those cars with non-turbo boosted engines. I'm not sure which cars in the game have this option available, I guess I'm going to have to buy every car in the game to find out ;)

3rd > while checking out the best times...i noticed that digital times were somewhat quicker than analog...is this an accepted law in the GT world or is this issue (digital/analog) open for debate?

I'm a digital player myself, so I wouldn't know how to answer this one. Hopefully someone else know's what's up with this.

4th > whyd you have to tell me i can win hot cars by getting all Golds in the licsense tests??....time to add mucho days to my mem card ( with the accompanying screams at the top of my lungs at the TV , no doubt) are the cars (TRD 3000, & 400R) worth it?

I agree with you on this one 100%. I'm just happy (lucky even) that I got the the B and A licences. I'm sharpening my skills on the A and B races in preparation for the IA licence tests, but I still cannot help but quiver in fear just thinking how many late nights I will spend trying to get that licence.

I have read (though various websites) that the TRD 3000 GT and the Nismo 400R are among the best in the game, though I have yet to try those puppies out for myself. If I get frustrated enough I may break my own "All cheaters must die horribly" rule and get myself a Gameshark to cheese theese babies into my garage. That would only be as a last resort though =) If the standard GameShark codes weren't bad enough, there a few people out there who figured out how to make 'GT Hybrids', a car with combined features using the Game Shark. (eg. A possible 'hybrid' would have the powerplant of a Race tuned GTO, the handling of an FTO LM, the weight of a Demio A-Spec, and the sleek body of a Castrol Supra GT).
For more details about Hybrids check out this site:

http://members.aol.com/MiStEGRYM/Page1.html

-Now that I've answered a few questions I have one of my own =) If anyone knows how to get the '67 Chevy Corvette in Simulation Mode, I'd like to know how. It would look _REALLY_ nice im my colection.

-Derrick

Thanks, Derick

First of all I would like to commend you on your Spectacular GT Site.
Next I would like to forward some of the suggestions on the upcoming GT II that I have sent to PlayStation. Hopefully a few of them may be heard and maybe even implemented =) Anyway, Here's the message:

How do you improve upon the best racing simulation on the face of this earth? Make a sequel of course. It is ironic that the only cure for my Gran Turismo obesssion would be its upcoming sequel ;) Needless to say, I cannot wait until its release, but what I can do is put in a few suggestions on how to improve upon what is already a near-flawless racing simulation.

My First suggestion is most likely on par with everyone else's, that is a greater selection of cars to race with. I would love to see more manufacturers such as Ferarri, Lamborghini, Porsche, Mercedes Benz, Jaguar, BMW, Volkswagen, Audi, Ford, Pontiac etc. Exotic cars such as the Lamborghini Diablo & Countach, Macleren F1, Jaguar XJ220, Vector, Lotus Esprit Turbo, Ferarri F50 & Testrossa are definitly a must. A greater selection among existing GT Manufacturers are also a plus, such as the Dodge Stealth, Avenger, and Neon, and the Chevrolet Corvette Z1, and Camaro IROC-Z. The Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX 4WD Turbo would also be nice, since I own one and would like to see how it does on a GT track =)

Graphics on the original GT are great, but how about making the whole game Hi-Resolution (like the special Hi-Res mode that you can earn by beating all the hard tracks in Arcade Mode, or beating the GT World Cup in Simulation Mode) It would blow the original out of the water. Not enough CD-ROM Space? Make it a 2-disc'er with the Arcade Mode on one disc and the Simulation Mode on the other.
Two games for the price of one? I'd Buy it =)

One of my gripes with the original GT is that some the race-tuned regular production cars such as a GTO, NSX, Supra or Viper, will whip the 500,000 Credit Limited Edition Models given enough tweaking and souping up, and it will do it
for less money! Ouch. I don't mind paying through the nose for a good racer, just as long as it can compete with the best. The only consolation is that Limited Edition Cars are the best looking Racers in the game. I especially like the Castrol Supra GT, and the GTO Limited Edition, Those look like _REAL_racers, not at all like some of the wannabee-racer looking
race-converted models with a bunch of lame stickers and graphics slapped on it.

While we are on the subject on looks, it would be nice if there were a custom color paint shop available. Some of the used car colors are just too darn ugly, unless of course you want to add to the humiliation factor buy whipping somone with a powder-blue, mint-green or some other lame looking colored 3-door hatchback (I really hate when that happens unless I'm the one on the giving-end of the humiliation) A better looking selection of race-coversion graphics would be nice too, perhaps 2 to 3 different racing sticker layouts and a range of racing colors to choose from would greatly enhance the custom-look and
appeal of an individual's racer, giving a greater chance for each racer to be unique.

The Arcade Mode is a nice bonus, no tweaking is necessary, the computer racers are almost an even match. As for two-player battle, its basically Skill vs. Skill when racing equivalent cars. It is also a great starting point for new players to get into the fun (I first played GT Arcade Mode at my cousin's and shortly therafter I got hooked enough to buy my own ans spend countless
hours on it). The Bonus Cars and Tracks which you can earn are definitely a plus. One suggestion for improvement would be to have the Limited Edition Racers available as a difficult to aquire earned bonus. The class of these racers should be AA or
somthing so their wins won't count towards other bonuses. These Limited Edition Racers, though not quite up to par with the race-modified cars in Simulation Mode, would represent the pinnacle in Arcade mode since none of the car's settings can be changed.

Another Suggestion would be add 4-player capability which would be Ideal in Arcade Mode, though you'd need a really huge screen to see the split screen action I think it would be worth it. Perhaps I should start saving up for a Video Projector, or one of those huge flat-tv's.=) It might be a bit more difficult to implement this in Simulation Mode since there are only 2 Memory
card Slots. Perhaps the cars can be loaded from the memory slots 2 at a time.

My Final suggestions may be considered by some to be nitpicking, then again how else can you improve upon perfection? ;) A feature which will allow you to change the order of cars as they appear in your garage would be welcome, otherwise it can be hell trying to find your One Super-souped Up Machine [TM] amongst your other 99 car garage line-up. A notation whether the car is Stock/Normal [N], Tuned [T], or Racing [R], along with the drivetrain (FF, FR, MR and 4WD) would be helpful in managing your cars as well. An option of leaving a championship, from any menu, especially from the qualifying menu would help speed things up a bit too. Well that's all the suggestions I can think of right now, I think my brain is going to explode.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hope that your head is still around your body! You definately have some really good ideas for GT2.

Sony Playstation, please listen to your loyal customers...thanks.

First of all to start off with GT2, it should have more competitive cars, such as; The Voolkswagon Jetta VR6, GTIVR6, Golf 4dr, Passat VR6, and finally the Beetle 1.8T. Next Car line would be Audi the A4 1.8T, A4 2.8, and the wagon versions. Next would be Volvo the 850 sedan and wagon, the C70 coupe.
Next the Saab line 9-3, 95 coupe, sedan, and wagon versions. The Next line would be the Ford Mondeo sedan, Escort (Cosworth) version and the mustang S. V. T. and maybe the Line of Renault or OPEL racing line. My Last car line would
be B.M.W the 318 hatchback, M3 coupe, wagon and sedan. The game should also have weather conditions like Rain, small fog, and wind. Another idea would be online Multiplayer like come as is with your own car and setup.

Thanks for listening
p.s. this site is cool!

I played GT for a long time. This game comes down to horsepower vs a well balanced car. Which is best, it depends on if you like to race or just drive. In most cases people want horsepower. What fun is it to win all the time simply because of brut power. Of course I was guilty of this myself at one time.
I will not call myself an expert but skill is far more important than speed. My two favorite cars are

-TVR Griffith 500 - Top speed on the test track 203 mph.
- Del Sol LM - Top speed on the test track 202 mph.
Nither of these cars will exceed 180 mph on any track most of the time 170 mph is tops. Yet my lap times have improved a lot. And as they are slower you you must perfect driving skills. I have won the All Nighter 1 with my Del Sol.
Trading that useless horsepower in for a well balanced car will bring new life to the game. That is if you can drive.

I wish I was lucky enough to get my hands on a WRX, hopefully Subaru will be nice and import a few to North America eventually. I've been playing this game for 5 hours straight so far, but nothing beats the real thing, so I think I'll take my little GT car out for a spin. Keep up the good work!

As the proud owner of a 1997 Plymouth Neon DOHC Coupe, I'd like to see this car in the game. More powerful than any stateside Honda in its' weight class, the Neon is a racing platform that should do well. In addition to its natural power, the engine bay is large enough to accomodate almost any upgrade (maybe not the lvl 3 or 4 turbo, but anything else).

I'd also like to see mechanical superchargers as upgrade options. Maybe SONY could license actual parts manufacturers as well (Borla, Paxton, Koni, etc.)

At any rate, great site-I launch from it whenever checking out GT stuff.

HI, since the game was made in Japan (I think) Sony probably won't put many American cars in GT2. I don't care realy. I liked the cars in the game, I like Honda/Acura mostly my mom has a 96 Accord EX vtech. They don't sell the WRX in America, well I know they don't sell the best impreza over here it might not be the wrx. They also don't sell the Civic type R over here just the Integra type R. I remeber now the road version of the Subaru rally car they don't sell in america they sell a
mild version but no very powerful impreza. NO trucks please I love trucks I own a truck but I don't want to race a truck maybe drag race but drag games are never very much fun. Here is my car wish list.

BMW(M3,Z3,M5 and a few normal BMW's), Porshe(Boxter and 2 other Porshe cars), Ford(mustang, SVT countour, mercury couger, Escort Cosworth), dodge and chystler suck ecept for the Viper which is unrealiable and in several road test has broken down in many american magazines, Ferari(all Ferrari cars need to be in this game). Now to gameplay, skid marks,
powerbrakeing, slight damage and repar costs would be a good addition.

If you add somethings like flipping and full body damage the cars would loose their realstic look right? I would like the game to look the same if not better don't give up frame rate and car graphics for needless options. Now my favorite cars in the game, all honda and acura cars hehe I currently have a new prelude SH racing edition with all upgrades fun to drive. Super charger would be a good car upgrade maybe NOS, Dodge Viper ACR also. sorry for spellinf and grammer :)/\/\

Ok, now i dont have the game, but i have played it many times. And it is definitely the best racing game i have ever played! And like most people that have played the game, i want to see more cars. Such as Ford, BMW, Porche, and others. Also, crashing and cars actually getting wrecked, and making you pay for them would be a good addition. Also, supercharged, customizable paint jobs, and others. But i have a few complaints. First off, yes GT had 166 cars, of which about 100+ people
would drive. It would be really good if they got rid of all the mid plain cars. Its of course good to have the best, and then for fun try to race the worst car and see how you do. But there are some cars they had that just really didn't need to be there. It would have been better to leave out the quadruplets of the same car, yes its more realistic but, its also more realistic to have more cars.

And furthermore TRUCKS!!!!??!?!?!?!?!? You've got to be kidding me?!?!?
It took like 2-3 years to make GT 1! For GT2 there going to have to include more cars no doubt, but if there's trucks too, we'll be waiting for like 5 years for GT2. Sony and its workers aren't robots!

And besides it is kind of ironic how everybody hails this game to be the best(which it is) but they MAJORLY critisize and give a million things to added to GT2.

Well this email is long enough. And by the way the site is awesome! i really like the real car pics!

First off I would like to say you have an excellent site on Gran Turismo (the best race car game in the world). I can tell a lot of
time and effort was put into this site. Next I would like to state some options that should be added to GT2. Such as the addition of more cars such as the Saleen and Rousch Mustangs (in the new '99 body style), these two ponies would kick serious ass. Maybe some third gen Camaros such as the IROC-Z. The Dinan M3 and maybe some other beamers (which are all capable of being supped up the ass in performance parts). Oh yeah, also can't forget the Trans-Am and the Formula.
In the performance department I would like to see some superchargers, turbochargers, and some NO2. More chassis mods such as lowering, bushings, control arms and subframe connectors to improve the handling. Speed isn't everything if you can't control it. Now for some serious horsepower, how about what we Americans love to do with our cars, strap on the muscle. Drop in some big blocks 454's, 502's.
It would be great in GT2 if we could get into the engine itself and play around with the pistons and valves (which are pretty much the leading factor in horsepower) instead of bolting "performance crap" on. Anyone joeshmo could place bolt ons onto their car but a takes a real car genius to use math and science to get the right combo in their block.
Next I would like to reply to all those who would like to see trucks in GT2. Forget it!!! It won't happen no damn truck could keep up with a speedy 2000lb. sports car. Remember weight is a huge factor in auto racing. I live in Houston, Texas, everyone and their grandmother drives a truck and I have never been beaten by one in my Camaro conv. (I race my friends all the time and they all have trucks).
So forget the trucks what would some people want next in GT2, motorcycles?

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Nice mail that you have here! Truck may be a good idea if only allowed to race with other trucks, definately not cars. Motorcycles????? Well, may be in GT9...

I've been playing Gran Turismo for about a week now, and I think it's on eof the best racing games ever. Being interested, I visited some Gran Turismo Fan sites. They all prize different cars, but in none of them I read anything about the Mitsubishi GTO. I totaly tuned the car, along with racing modification, and it rides like the wind. I mean it.
There's absolutely no race you can loose with a car like this. It has 928 hp, and is four wheel driven. The only thing is hat with a
four-wheel-driven car, you can't use racing tires. It will slow your car down. You have to use semi-racing tires to get everything possible out of the car.
I hope you can pass this hint along, 'cause I swear by my GTO.

regards and compliments for your website,

I've been to most of the boards and these guys all seem to be braggarts. Who will take them seriously? Is there anybody of any importance reading any of these sites? I'm not looking
for money or fame, all I want is an odometer.....a finite life on an engine (and replacement value) and a race journal.

Can you help me?

To my dearest John Roche..............
The car in which I've pulled 417 km/h is a fully tuned Mitsubishi GTO TwinTurbo.
Which track..........stupid question........test course.
But if you behave nice and maybe give me some of your settings, I`ll be more than happy to give you my settings for the GTO..........how about it ??????
And if you dont believe me......hey I'm sure that some of the other racing freaks on this site will tell you that they've probably gone faster than 417 km/h.
I also would like to know if anyone has gone faster than 417 km/h.
You guys of course know about going the other way around the test course in order to gain more speed.
Mail me anyone.

Hi, I loved the site. It looks great, and gave me a lot of insight to the game. My friend bought GT for our PSX (I say ours cause I paid for it, and it's at his house) about 2 weeks ago. I easily attained out B-Class license so we could start racing. We bought a used RX-7, and it rocked.
It wasn't exactly the best car, but for B-Class, it was more than adequate. Our next purchase was a Dodge Viper GTS, I believe, which we didn't race until we had it tweaked. It was a fairly good car, though it didn't handle that well. We sold it to buy a GTO TwinTurbo, and now that we've tweaked it, it accelerates from 0-100 in 2.3 seconds, and has a top speed of 287. It has 983 HP, flies down straight-aways, and hugs corners like you wouldn't believe. We're still trying to figure out the settings
to make it even better, should it be posssible. One thing we're stuck on is getting our A-Class license. We've done the first 2, and the advance techniques, but the rest we're stuck on. If somebody could possible give us some help on how to get past the A-Class test, it would be great. As well, I heard there is a code to get the Concept car, although I'm not sure. If somebody could confirm this for us, it would be great. Thanks alot, and keep on racing!!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You could get the Concept car by winning one of the races (in which I've forgotten), and no code required. Try again to beat the A-Class international...if I can do it, so does everybody....

Gran Turismo™ is the best game I ever had, nothing comes close. I recently lost my 5 million something and 100 cars becuz someone erased da memory card. That sucks, 2 months of work gone. Anyways I read on the web about a del Sol LM Edition, is this true? Supposeldy on the UK vs Japan win list of cars. One of the most of cars from the wshlist that I would like to see is the new Beetle. Also drag racing mode, skid marks, being able to just sit and spin the tires. changing rims and tires, adding different type spoilers ( F40, GT, Touring, standard, Supra style)
Well great site.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Personally I prefer FTO LM Edition. It can take corner like bullet train, it can accelerate faster than WRX, with a top speed of 320km/h. (which is much faster than WRX)

You can easily win any races with this damn car!

Great GT page. I have fews things I would like to see in GT2, if there is one, one of the worst parts of GT is that it lies to us -Best driving simulation game??? Great game, yes. Great simulation -not really -if a car going 50+ mph slams into a wall it is not going to just keep on going at the same condition and need a car wash at the end of a race -it's going to need a lot of body work. And if a car goes up on 2 wheels to slide around a corner it is defying the laws of physics -I hope in GT2 we see cars taking damage and rolling over.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hope that Sony will include those features in GT2.

Hi there.....
This is a unbelievable great site you`ve got here,,,,really fantastic.
The Mitsubishi GTO TwinTurbo is the best all-round car in the game, if not the best.
Also the Concept car kicks ass for the lord....best FR-car.
They should have more manufactures, especially German and Italien cars like Ferrari, Porsche, Lamborgini, Mercedes, BMW and so on.
I know that they have to pay for it, but what the.....?.
They should also make it possible for the cars to really crash and get scratched and you should be able to drive in rainy or snowy-weather.
I guess that more wants more.
GT is the best game EVER made.
Why can't you get the 67 corvette in sim-mode............thats a shame.
I think they`ve spent too much time putting in a lots of cars thet no one will ever buy or drive, instead.............I`ve said it once........more manufactures.
In GT2 there should also be FORD !!!!!!!!!!!.
By the way.....I just managed to pull 417 km/h with the GTO Twinturbo 95, is that just awesome or what ????????????.
What happens when you get gold in all the races.?????????
About that idea with the GT-League on the internet.......thats a real good idea.
Im on.

Well thanks for a great site.......
Race on

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi, me too agree that they (read, Sony) should include German & italian car in the future, if not GT1. You will get additonal cars if you get all GOLD in the license test. Race on too...

I'd just like to say that after nearly two months on/off play, I finally completed everything in Gran Turismo this morning. I've
completed every single quick arcade track on 'Hard' setting, finished the completely draining endurance races, and have every car, even the concept car in both arcade and Turismo mode. I can defeat anyone I play at the game in two player mode. The point of this letter (no, it isn't just brag, brag, brag!) is to ask if there is possibly anything I may have missed? Also, what is all your settings??(i.e. brakes, gears, suspension and spoilers). I am thinkin about puttin less angle on the front spoiler, becuz I can not make a lot of the turns becuz it doesnt turn far enuf, and I have to slo it WAY down to get it to skid around.

My brother bought the game, he has a '93 Prelude Si 4WS. He loves it because his car is in there, along with the others. I on the other hand, have an "85 VW GTi. Any VW owner that knows his or her stuff knows that the '85 was the best car that VW made in a GTi (before the VR6). I know that in the American version of GT, there are two old (very old) versions of the Toyota Corrola (Levin and Apex), if they can make versions that old, could they add some old GTi's to that wishlist?
I will send pictures of some later. I say this because our club here where I live (Atlanta, Georgia, USA) has a bunch of VW's (inside term for them is "dub's") and we would like to see all of the good years of those cars in GT2. But anyway, I love the suggestions on playing the game and I will certainly play and win with those (not to mention that I had never heard of the Cerbera LM, very nice). You have to compete the races (arcade races) in hard mode, once you win them, you will be awarded with more tracks and cars.

But mind you, some of the races are difficult in arcade mode. I have went through them and awarded with GT HI-FI mode.

You can do it too.

The only thing I don't understand is how they could design such a great game, but leave out ALL of the German car manufactures! I'm sorry, but auto racing exists on the planet only because of the likes of C. Shelby, I. Ferrari, and F. Porsche! It was a shame to see only one out of three represented in GT.

Now for some suggestions: I am a die-hard pickup fan, specially chevy trucks. So how about adding a S10 SS or a racing version of the Silverado to the wish list??
I am having a hard time getting my International A license, do u have any tips?? Tires, brakes and other things should wear out and be replaced. Also, paint should be scratched and metal bended and they should bill you for the repairs, that way the game would be more realistic.

well...thanks for taking your time to read my email and mantaining such
a great site!!

You defenitely have some very interesting points that I really like very much (eg. repair bill)

I am a 19 year old college student at Gettysburg College in PA. I was reading your page and it is very impressive. I like your Subaru and your description. Your car sounds very fast indeed. I just bought a 98 Dodge Dakota Sport. It has a 3.9L V6 Quad Cam turbo engine (BIG BOY). It is'nt a work truck, but a nice, sport truck. I didn't get the 5.9L V8 due to the money and It DRINKS gas. I got a CD player with Infiniti speakers, window tinting, sport lighting, aluminium wheels, a nice lift, and an automatic trannie. The engine is VERY loud and it likes to growl. You have got to love a big loud engine. I am saving up for a Gibson exhuast system. It pumps your torque up by 30%. I have read some reviews on it and it supposedly glues your ass in the seat at about 3000 RPM. I am going to add some other things here and there, but I want the exhaust system. The trucks
tach red lines at about 6500 RPM. I have gotten it up to about 117 MPH before the engine's RPM started to climb into the red. For a truck, that is fast. *CHECK OUT MY PIC*

Nice talking to you.

Ryan Littlefield

Your truck picture look really impressive!!! Hope to have a chance to take a ride with you...

Hey sup, I'm a GT fan. I just wanted to know if there is anyway I can get my playstation to look like the Hi-res pics on your webpage if it is possible.

And do u know what the best car is in GT?

Thnx Lotz
(Heh I had a Supra that did 238 but my memory pack went poopoo on me =()

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The high-res pics that I have is a touched-up version of the actual screen shot, which means we can never get such kind of res in the game.

My fav cars is FTO LM Edition, the best compromise car.

But I'm more used pc games, I guess... is it ever gonna come out for pc? I think the graphics would kick some serious butt in 3dfx...

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Nope, and the answer is nope, nope and nope. But I do agree with you that if it ever came out on PC with 3dfx, i will sure be speechless...

Hey, your situation is almost same as me!
I have been playing PC games since 10 years ago, now I own a Pentium II PC, and still playing PC games...

But nothing can even come close to GT in the racing game category for all platform at at now! (not until PC version is out with 3dfx, if it ever materialise)

Is there going to be GRAN TURISMO 2? If so when will it be out? What other cars will be there?
This is just my opinion if they make GT2 they should be able to change rims like different types and sizes; be able to turbocharged or supercharge the engine; have a Nitrous oxide bottle; be able to customize your paint job and add racing stripes; have your brake weardown so it adds realism if you keep revving your engine, add on a wing or spoiler without buying; awhile racing modification, and another really cool thing would be if there could be a drag racing mode. Thanks for listening.

Hi
I've been playing Gran Turismo non stop for 5 weeks, just can't put it down.

I have a couple questions and a bit of info GT players may be interested in.
1) How do you win the RX7 Aspec LM in the US - British race.
2) How do you win the TDR3000 GT.

I noticed a letter about winning cars in various races. This is how I did it.

UK - Japan.
Car - TVR Cerbera
Win all poll positions, Win all races. Repeat this 5 times without exiting the game. In other words if there is 5 races thats 5 x 5.

Same thing for Us vs Japan, you will find 2 versions of the FTO LM Limited plus my favorite the Viper GTS-R both Green and Blue.

Now how do I win that RX7- Aspec LM Edition in the US vs British race and that TDR 3000 GT

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For my version (Jap), I always get RX7 Aspec, but never get TDR3000 GT before...

First off I'm using my moms account and my name is jeff.

Cool Things that should be in GT2-
They should have sponsorships that you get after winning races. After 365 days you get a bit more money from your sponsors. They should have more color options for racing mods. More tracks. More Cars( I must be the only dufus that believes that 166 cars is not enuff). A drag Racing Circuit. More Super Cars such as Indy Cars.

Your Sites the Best. Keep it up bro.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hey, thanks for coming back and giving more suggestion!

From    :    GICHYSUEDE@aol.com

Let me start off by saying that your site is just AWESOME!!!!! I mean its GT heaven. I was wondering also what the gear ratios are to get my Mitsubishi GTO 95MR to go above 270+!!!!!! I have tried so many combinations and can't get it.
I got some but the acceleration is beyond horrible and I only got up to 256!!!! I also read some article someone posted on the message board about turning your playstation on and off while the memory card is loading. He/She said that it caused him to get a 1200 hp Viper, the old Classic Corvette on Simulation mode though I thought it was an Arcade mode only car, plus a
bunch of other goodies. What the heck is that all about. Oh and one more thing, I have raced everyone who has tried to come across my path, I took on their GTO's, their Skylines, their NSX's, their Supra, etc, but I can assure you that if you know how to use your Cerbera LM Edition right, you will kick everybodys @$$!!!!!! Good luck and keep up the site.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My best loved car is Mitsubishi FTO LM & Concept car, but do agree with you that Cebera LM is AWESOME!!!!!

I'm an absolute fan of GT, I played it in the past months, sometimes for several hours continuously. I get the rewards - I got all license, won all the races and got and saw all the secrets (i.e. Hi-Fi mode, staff video, LM cars, etc). However I also played some price - I got bad pain in my head and neck, which took a couple of days to go away. So GT racers, please take reguler break when you drive and do some physical exercise when you are not holding the dual shock controller, for your own health.

BTW, I have played both Japanese and US version of GT, and find the former is better then the latter, especially on music and menu design.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

GT PLAYERS, PLEASE TAKE NOTE OF THE ABOVE ADVICE! IT HELPS!

I am looking for codes for the licenses, or anyother codes. Also I have heard that you can get the Dodge Concept Car is this true? What do you  think is the best car? I think the best car (in American Version GT) is the Mitsubishi GTO. 930 hps

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There is no other codes except GameShark codes, which is published in my page.

Yes, you can get Dodge Concept fully modified car, I owned it, and it is real fast in term of acceleration and conering, but suck on some of the track due to soft suspension!

Overall, I like FTO LM, it is the best car, than Concept car, virtually can win any races with ease!

I have a problem. There are champioships with two bonus cars and I always win the same car.

For example :

UK vs Japan : I always win the Honda CRX and I never won the TVR Cerbera. How to win this Cerbera ?
Please help me !!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have the same problem too. According to a discussion group! All you need to do is try to lose some of the races but win the championship overall, then you may be awarded with diff car!

Hi there. I was browsing through your site the other day, and I just  have to know - how DO you get those screen captures? Is it done by linking the Playstation to the PC, or do you just get them from Sony  Corp? Either way, I really want to know, because I have an idea for a  really cool screensaver based on screenshots from races.

Regards, Justin Wilson.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I get most of my screens from the Sony Corp. But hay, I have a PC card which can connect any TV or VIDEO source, the name is SNAZZI, I capture still images and video images from the card and save it in MPG, JPG or WAV format. The card is good but very expansive. It costs about US$500.

Does the computer-player get better or something ?
Do I have to hurry though the game on a special number of days to see a special ending ?

Please mail me and tell me what the hell is wrong.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Nothing is wrong! The reason is due to mine is Japanese version of GT, which display speed in KM/H, while yours is US version which display speed in MPH. Conversion of this is : mph = km/h / 1.609, OR km/h = mph * 1.609.

Hey Fellow Gran Turismo

I am really impressed with your page and I have one comment. Why didn't you put the FORD COUTOUR SVT in your wish list? If you are not familiar with the SVT go to http://home.att.net/~a.c.wells this is my homepage :)

By the way tell me some of your times for various tracks and cars and I will do the same. By the way I live in the US.

Added a Ford Coutour SVT picture. Seems like you are a great Ford fan...

I've got another car that NEEDS to be added to GT2. Porsche 944 turbo. I bought one a few months ago for $4500 put in a
computer chip and I can show you a chart that shows the car with 265hp, 300lb/ft torque with the chip. The way I see it, I'd have $5000 for other stuff. Also the car can hold 275 & 315 tires w/o flared fenders !!
This won't be a skyline but it is the PERFECT beginning car!!!!
A few questions.....
What is the fasted speed you've seen?
What is you best time around high speed ring? (and other tracks)

I think you should have a section for these inputs as I'd love to see what others get.

I have added a link for those people to compare their time!
