Controlling The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
A Button
This is the Action Button. It does pretty much any random action. Examples being, opens chests and doors, talk to people, roll forward, read signs, whip the horse, pull or push something, open doors, and much more! Pay attention to the Action Icon on the top of the screen. Also, it controls the lowest note on the Ocarina.B Button
This button controls your sword, be it the Kokiri Sword, The Master Sword, Giant's Knife, or Biggoron's Sword. Press it once to draw your blade, then press it again to hack sideways. Run forward and press B to chop downward. Spin the Control Stick quickly and press B to do a spinning blue beam attack. And last, but not least(in fact, the most powerful), hold B for several seconds and release. It uses a scant percent of magic power, but releases a huge orange red beam of stacked power. Awesome. Also, B puts the Ocarina away. The C Buttons
C Right, C Left, and C Down
On the pause screen, you can assign each of these 3 buttons an item, then use it using that button. VERY handy. Due to Miyamoto and the gang's genius with this feature, you can always have easy acsess to your sword, and 3 other items. I personally perfer to have the Fairy Bow on C Down, the Ocarina of Time of C Right, and the Longshot on C Left... but due to the awesome way this is set, you can customize it HOWEVER YOU WANT! Also, these buttons control 3 notes on the Ocarina.C Up
Use this to switch to a first-person and look around. Or, if you are in a building, use it to switch to an overhead view. It also operates the highest note on the Ocarina. The Z Button!
This is where the Miya-man's genius SHINES! He rocks. Press Z next to a monster, and you will 'Z-Target' them. Then, your control will circle around them. You can walk in circles around them, back away, step up, do sidejumps, strafing, backflips... or run up and chop! Then, retreat back, sidejump, whip out the bow and fire! Gosh, this feature ROCKS THE WORLD!!!! And on a side note, it flats notes on the Ocarina.R Button
Press and hold this button to hold out your shield, which helps defend from enemy attacks. How convinient! It also sharps notes on the Ocarina.L Button
Press this button to toggle the transparent map in the corner of the screen on and off. Very nice.Analog Control Stick
The Control Stick moves our hero, Link, in whatever direction you press it, how fast depends on how hard you press it. It also controls the aiming of the bow, hookshot, slingshot, boomerang, and bends pitch on the Ocarina. The Forgotten Directional Pad
Serves no purpose in this adventure! Boooo!
