The Game that started it all

This is the game that started it all. You play as Sonic the Hedgehog and your goal is to free the animals from the robot bodies that they are imprisoned in. Then at the end you face off with Dr.Robotnik, the one that transformed the animals into robots. Like almost every sonic fan, this it the firs Sonic game I ever played. I really like this game because of it's simplicity and the overall gameplay. Heres some screenshots:
