Cadence smiles sweetly to Jadis as he pulls two small twigs from his rather messy purple hair. Cadence then taps the sticks together in an unthreatening way. Slowly the soft rhythm deepens and grows, echoing throughout the amphitheater. As the beat continues to grow, you are forced to cover your ears, however that does not help as much as you would like. The deep booming starts to provide a real threat, if you do not stop this noise soon, you will be dealing with burst eardrums and a rather weak sense of balance.

Jadis stumbles slightly uner the pressure of the noise. She claws at her ears, trying to block out the sound, though it proves futile. She squeezes her eyes shut and begins to mumble, her words filling he gaps in the incessant beat. Her chant grows louder and you feel the sticks begin to almost writhe in your hands. The soon refuse to be struck against one another, alive in your grasp. They worm out of your hands and fall to the floor to be swallowed into the ground. Jadis shakes her head slightly, ending her words with a quiet mumur. She begins to stand, drawing herself up to her height and gazes at you, a slight smile twisting at the corners of her mouth. You feel your world shift beneath you under her grey gaze. She seems to grow taller with every heartbeat, or perhaps it is you that shrinks. Her eyes hold yours and you fear looking down or away, sensing a danger in them. She glances at your feet and her smile broadens, showing white teeth. You glance down at your feet to find they are not there, but, rather, are slowly sinking.... No, changing, into the dirt that covers the floor. Looking at the process now, you notice the pain from your body being changed into sand as it creeps up you legs at a steady pace, tamed and docile to Jadis, but rather dangerous to you. Continuing to stare, the pain tears through you more and you wonder which will get you first, the sand or the pain....

Cadence bites down hard on his lip, knowing that he must think quickly. Clapping his hands together Cadence smiles, or tries to smile dispite the pain. The sound of thunder roaring can be heard in the distance, but it grows louder quickly and is soon overhead. The storm cries out in a wild rhythm, releasing it's burden. The rain falls in large and heavy droplets, thickening the sand into a useless mud, thus ending Cadence's transformation. Another rumble meets your ears, but this time it's not thunder. A large spire of rock shoots up from beneath the sand, lifting Cadence higher than the eye can see. As suddenly as it appeared, the rock returns to the earth. Cadence, however, is nowhere to be seen. The rain continues to poor down, leaving puddles at your feet. The thunder clouds seem to follow some unheard beat. A flash of light alerts you. Lightning, lots of it. As the fingers of fire reach down towards you, you remember that electricity and water do not go well together.

Jadis turns her face to the lightning, the rain pouring down on her. She frowns slightly at the brilliant light and look down as she begins to wave a small pattern with her hands. She moves her hands faster and faster, but a blur in the light of the storm. The lightning comes tearingthrough the sky at the wet figure. Jadis looks up again to meet the fork of electricity. A flash brighter than those around it explodes through the Amphitheater, washing it in a green shade of light. The glow does not reduce, but seems to increase, becoming blinding. The sounds of the torm fade somewhere and a silence encompases athe area. Nothing and no one can be seen, aside from the green light. It is almost tangible, accompanied by a silence so heavy it seems to press you to the earth. Your feet walking and shifting on the floor make no sound, and the floor seems gone. The silence grows deeper and the light intensifies, washing away all memories of sunlight and hills and breezes, flooding your mind with only green. Sound soon seems lost, you find yourself not able to remember how the lark's song goes or how to whistle. The silence preses heavier still on your heart, making you curl into a ball of despair, only wishing that you could die and let your spirit be free to hear and see and smell again...

Cadence sits alone in the quiet nothingness, wanting something yet not knowing what. Cadence moans and curls up tighter, waiting to just die. But something is poking him. Curious, he sits up and reaches into his hair. A small twig is there, pressing against his scalp. Angry, Cadence takes the twig in his right hand and throws it downwards. As luck would have it, on its way into oblivion, the twig strikes the small ice ring on his left hand, sending out a heavenly sound. Suddenly Cadence knows what to do, reaching back into his hair he retrieves two more sticks, and slowly beats them together. The sphere of quiet green about him shatters into shards on the cold, hard earth. Hitting the sticks against the earth, Cadence calls out. The ground begins to groan and creak. You feel your feet being pushed into your body, then in moments dropping down to stay on Kuri's surface. The whole planet seems to be expanding and collapsing to the beat at which Cadence has set. As you drop down you feel the air begin to become humid and thick, but when you are pushed up it is extremely thin and cold. Either way, it is becoming increasingly difficult for oxygen to get into your lungs. The heartbeat of the earth pounds in your head, leaving you feeling like you are going to explode, or suffocate...whichever comes first.

Jadis barely restrains herself from crying out in pain. She begins to moan, but is cut short by herslef, wishing to preserve oxygen. She begins to hold her breth, hanging onto the earth with every fiber of her body. She digs her nails into the earth, tearing up handfuls of the ground. Presently, she begins to swallow the sand, taking it into her mouth and digging her feet into the earth. She buries her head and resurfaces, panting for air. She again holds her breath, humming slightly. The pounding begins to slow, pulsing contradictory to your beat. You pound harder with your twigs, but the earth has slowed to Jadis's heartbeat. The earth bucks beneath you and you feel the twigs fly out of your hands to land near Jadis. She releases her breath and begins to shake the dirt from her hair and clothes as the earth settles back to stillness and the air ripple around the sand, returning to normal.
